Janice\u2019s Women\u2019s Center, a conceptual center for women in the throes of homelessness and domestic violence, is set to become a reality as its visionary founders, Shante Saulsberry & Sheri Saulsberry, are on the verge of creating an affordable housing scheme for these victimized women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, millions of women all over the world are victims of domestic violence. The concern is even more significant since the quarantine started in March of 2020, creating no way out for survivors who are forced to share a space with their abuser. The concerning factor is that 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States \u2013 more than 12 million women over a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focused and determined, this dynamic duo will stop at nothing to help other women who are stuck in the quagmire of abuse and homelessness. They have been working closely with the City of Phoenix, The Council Members in Phoenix, and other leaders who are exceptionally inspired by these ladies\u2019 ambition and vision to see something great occur within the city of Phoenix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June, Shante Saulsberry and Sheri Saulsberry opened Janice Vaincre Boutique at Ranch Circle Drive and Ray Road. The upscale women\u2019s clothing store is open to help raise the $8 million to get a women\u2019s center built to help women suffering from domestic violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The founder, Shante Saulsberry, saw a woman who appeared to be homeless sitting at a bus stop last year near the corner of Ray Road and 50th Street in Ahwatukee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I decided, \u2018well, I\u2019m going to get that lady breakfast.\u201d That began a routine where I would pick up a meal for the woman named Janice at a nearby Chick-Fil-A. <\/p>

Shante Saulsberry tried getting Janice into a shelter but couldn\u2019t find her a bed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got her clothes, a medical kit some food, of course, and I just said, \u2018You know, if you need me, I\u2019m going to keep checking on you. \u2018<\/p>

So as it got cold, Janice walked away and has yet to be found. Although Shante Saulsberry lost touch with the woman, her interactions with Janice inspired her to do more. The Saulsberry duo is raising money for the project, including 52 tiny homes for women and their children made out of repurposed shipping containers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is something that\u2019s going to take a lot of community support and financial involvement. The ladies have been doing everything it takes to obtain funding in many areas. I\u2019m going to do whatever it takes to fulfill my mission. <\/p>

Shante Saulsberry is seeking more local athletes to reach out and get involved with Janice\u2019s Women\u2019s Center and for more celebrities to connect with her so she can obtain the support of those with the means to help her cause financially. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where there\u2019s a will, there\u2019s away. I just can\u2019t keep being let down when trying to help women into a better space.<\/p>
