I was born\u2026<\/h3>\n

lucky, to have chosen my parents wisely.<\/p>\n

My favorite thing about Arizona\u2026<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s my childhood home. After many\u00a0long winters trudging uphill both ways through the snow at Harvard, I\u00a0will never take desert winters for granted.<\/p>\n

I’m listening to\u2026<\/h3>\n

my patients. Listening is the lost art in medicine\u00a0and in life.<\/p>\n

My family\u2026<\/h3>\n

reminds me to live with humility.<\/p>\n

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

my great great\u00a0grandfather. He led Korea\u2019s first international trade mission in 1883,\u00a0met with President Chester Arthur and Thomas Edison and went on to\u00a0become Prime Minister of Korea and modernize the country. All before\u00a0his 30th birthday. I am clearly the lazy Hong of the family.<\/p>\n

One thing I cannot live without\u2026<\/h3>\n

purpose. A life without purpose is\u00a0not a life worth living<\/p>\n

When I was younger, I wanted to be\u2026<\/h3>\n

a urologist. Just kidding. I\u00a0think it\u2019s kinda weird if you grow up wanting to be a urologist. But\u00a0it\u2019s the best kept secret in med school. Who else gets to cure cancer\u00a0and talk sex with Grandpa in the same day? Keeps me young.<\/p>\n

I’m inspired by\u2026<\/h3>\n

passion – for life, for creativity, for meaningful\u00a0contributions to our world.<\/p>\n

The one person who motivates me is\u2026<\/h3>\n

my fianc\u00e9e. Haerina completes me.<\/p>\n

If I could change anything in the world, it would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

Phoenix Suns\u00a0win the championship!\u00a0 Paxson hitting the 3 to end Game Six, 1993\u00a0Finals still hurts.<\/p>\n

The perfect day would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

to cure Disease, ease Pain and broker\u00a0World Peace\u2026all before lunch.<\/p>\n

My first job was\u2026<\/h3>\n

delivering sandwiches to offices during the mad\u00a0lunch rush. Making quick change was more pressure than performing\u00a0robotic partial nephrectomy…put my Kumon math skills to the test!<\/p>\n

My favorite escape\u2026<\/h3>\n

is a great book. Currently on Banvard\u2019s Folly,\u00a0the story of the greatest people in history you never heard of. They\u00a0succeeded then failed spectacularly. Reminds me that life is a\u00a0marathon, not a sprint.<\/p>\n

\u2019s philosophy is defined by three principles: integrity,\u00a0respect and compassion.<\/p>\n
