Make some breakfast and pack a lunch for the day. Out the door around 6:30 a.m. to head to the gym for a workout. If I don’t get it done in the morning, I tend to get too busy to do it later. After that, I run the first few semi-private sessions of the day at our studio. I coach 2-3 people at a time with custom training programs. After this, I head to the office to work on programs, film and edit IG content, run assessments or evaluations for any new clients, create systems for the business, connect with coaches to ensure proper programming, monthly calls with satellite clients, or work on big projects to keep our system and programming clean and easy to use for all of our clients. Then grab some lunch and decompress with the team. From there we usually have a 1 p.m. meeting to strategize and make sure everyone is on the same page. After that, I finish and post some IG content, including daily trivia because everyone needs some daily trivia. If I am working afternoon sessions or team training in the afternoon, I head there and then after that, I finish any big projects and I head home. When I get home my lovely wife usually has something cooking which I am extremely thankful for. We eat and chat about the day, and finish off with either some reading or mindless entertainment. I hit my sleep routine and I am off to bed by 9 p.m.

I was born…

in Chicago, Illinois back in the early 90’s. I grew up there and went to school at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I first lived outside of Illinois when I went to grad school to become an Athletic Trainer at the University of Arkansas. Athletic Training didn’t last long which is what led me to what I do today which is to help people try to prevent injuries and increase their athletic potential. I moved to Arizona to pursue this with my wife two years ago.

My favorite thing about Arizona…

the heat… for now. Everyone tells me after living here for 4-5 years I will hate the heat, but I love being outside in the 90’s and 100’s. Also, it makes golf affordable and life seems to slow down a little bit in the summers here. We made the decision to move from Chicago when it was 15 degrees in February in Chicago and the dog refused to go outside… it’s safe to say I don’t love the cold.

I’m listening to…

J. Cole – 2014 Forest Hills Drive. I usually need a good beat when I’m working on anything.

My family…

consists of my older brother Bill, who lives in Colorado and my older sister Tara, who lives in Chicago with her husband and two baby girls (Nora and Addy). My mom and dad live down the street from my sister so we head back to Chicago frequently (4 trips planned this summer). Luckily, Facetime exists so we get to stay up to date with everyone and see the girls grow. On the other side, my wife has her brother Dan, and her mom and dad, Janice and Dave, who all live here in Arizona. It’s great having them since I am so far from everyone in my family. I’m from an Irish family so I have a bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins all over the nation which makes traveling fun.

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be…

I’m sure the correct answer would be some sort of celebrity but honestly, I would love to just have dinner with all of my best friends back home. Getting everyone together nowadays is tough and my happiest day was our wedding when everyone was together so I would have to say that.

One thing I cannot live without…

coffee. I got sick awhile back and didn’t have coffee for the first time in forever and I wasn’t sure if the sickness was as bad or if the lack of caffeine was causing me to feel even worse… so yeah, coffee. The bright side is I like to try all different kinds of coffee and it has led me to learn a lot about it which is super interesting.

When I was younger, I wanted to be…

oh man, I don’t even know. I just always loved sports so I gravitated towards something in sports. I think I stayed pretty close to that line which is cool.

I’m inspired by…

the people who outwork everyone and still have balance in their lives. One of my skills is the ability to just do the work, but sometimes the balance gets shifted. So people who put excuses to the side and get the job done tend to inspire me.

The one person who motivates me is…

I tend to get motivation from all around me so I wouldn’t say I have one person. But I get motivated by my parents for always working their tails off to provide for us and making life normal. I’m motivated by my wife and her passion for creating her own lane and passion for helping people. And I am motivated by my team when we are all on the same page to reach an end goal.

If I could change anything in the world, it would be…

a bigger focus on personal fitness for health. In today’s world, there is way too much of a focus on the quick fix across the board. So if we get sick, we take a pill, if we want to lose weight, we take a pill, if our body hurts, we take a pill. I have seen first hand and made it my mission to help people become healthier, more resilient, and less reliant on quick fixes. I think if people were healthier, we see a reduction in stress, illness, and injury across the board which bleeds into every industry in America and the world. Fitness and exercise have so many positive benefits that to me it is crazy we aren’t more focused on it as a preventative tool. And the biggest thing to me is that most people don’t have the education to make fitness fit their lifestyle and that is where I want to help.

The perfect day would be…

wake up, coffee, read for an hour or two outside, walk the dog, get a lift in, grill out for lunch, play softball in the early afternoon, more coffee, golf 9 holes in the early evening, take the wife out to dinner, meet up with friends from here and back home, bed by 9 p.m.

My first job was…

as an intern Athletic Trainer for the Chicago Bears. I actually skipped graduation to go work a week early to start for OTA’s. I was there for about a year and then worked in the high school setting, and then moved to Arizona and the rest is history. My true first job though was working as a server at a banquet hall and baseball field maintenance for my park district.

My favorite escape…

gym, golf course, a good book, an adventure with my wife.

My life…

is a constant work in progress. Whenever I get where I want to go and do what I want to do, I’ll find somewhere else I have to get to next.

I’m currently working on…

our online and mobile training program. We currently train 10-15 people from all over the nation and world and we want to bring our custom programs to people from all over the world trying to better themselves.

Always…

do the work and think things through first.

Never…

think you know it all. Stay learning.

Favorite Quote…

“You attract what you are, not what you want. If you want great, then be great.” – Tony Gaskins

Biggest Dream…

I’m pretty simple. My dream is to be a good person, husband, friend, brother, cousin, and eventually a father. I want to find passion and purpose in my work and ultimately try to be part of the change in this country from where we are now to a healthier and happier place.

My Pet Peeve(s)…

when people openly speak about things that are not true and it is clear they don’t have the facts. Those people are the hardest to convince to listen to reason and data, even if it is staring them in the face.

Meet Director of Program Design at
