WHAT DO YOU ATTRIBUTE THAT TO? I always play the long game, not the short game. I never focus on one deal; I focus on doing the right thing for my clients in order to sustain a long-term relationship. I do this with colleagues and clients. I also keep a tight ship and tight lips…I never kiss and tell, and I respect and individuals. YOU HAVE AN INSANE DRIVE. WHERE DOES THAT STEM FROM? I came from humble beginnings in the Midwest, raised by phenomenal parents who instilled a strong work ethic in me. From a very young age, my parents taught me to always be open and honest, work hard at everything, and always do right by people—no matter what. WHAT GIVES YOU A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE? My technology background enables me to better analyze the data on a macro-economic level and a micro-economic level for each individual zip code, taking the data all the way down to the neighborhood, street and property level. The data is there for everyone to see; however, I possess a unique skill set and better aptitude to interpret and understand the data to apply it in the connection of buyers and sellers. WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU NEVER EXPECTED IN REAL ESTATE WHEN YOU STARTED? Ninety-nine percent of realtors take on any listing, at any price, just to get their name on a luxury house. In my opinion, this is a disservice to sellers and a complete waste of time and money. I’m brutally honest and tell buyers and sellers what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. WHAT WAS A HARD LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED IN REAL ESTATE? Learning to say no. Time is our most precious resource. I am fortunate to be a referral-based business. I’m only one man, so I limit the amount of business I accept to best service my clients. I must believe in a of what I do is building real relationships with my clientele; customer service is key. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS? Paradise Valley and Scottsdale are the best-kept secrets in real estate, so call me. Zillow’s Z-estimate hasn’t been through your house and doesn’t know what it's really worth. If your friend or family member has a real estate license, don’t use them; it does not make them a real estate professional. WHAT ADVICE DO YOU GIVE TO FELLOW REALTORS? Learn how to bring clients value. If your business model involves putting a lockbox on properties, quit now; you may talk a big game and advertise, but you do not actually provide value to your clients. CONGRATULATIONS ON CLOSING $55,000,000 IN 2019. WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU IN 2020? I have a proprietary technology and analytics platform in beta testing designed to better connect with and better understand the unique trends. I am also expanding to other markets. My clients are not geographically bound, nor am I, so I can now serve their real estate needs in other destination markets.
