I dispel myths about hospice and reassure folks that as a nonprofi t, we provide care regardless of insurance. 9 a.m.: Visit an assisted-living facility with balloons and chocolate cake to celebrate the 100th birthday of one of our adorable patients. 10 a.m.: Meet with our Board of Directors and leadership team to discuss exciting updates on our new Dementia Care & Education Campus now under construction in the Arcadia area. 12 p.m.: Business lunch at any yummy restaurant (Ocotillo, Taco Guild, Otro Cafe or Wild Thaiger, to name a few). I’m a total foodie who welcomes new suggestions! 1 p.m.: Pick up my standard poodle to provide pet therapy at a skilled nursing facility. It's unbelievable how much joy my furry buddy spreads wherever he goes. If only people understood unconditional love the way dogs do. 3 p.m.: Catch up on paperwork in my fl ower-fi lled offi ce (blooms make me happy!) and meet with colleagues about events like our AAHA Art Auction at the Camelback Inn in March (you should all come!) 4:30 p.m.: Ready to shake it in barre class at TenPoint5 studio. I love the natural serotonin high that comes from a full-body workout combining cardio, yoga and ballet. 6 p.m.: Either meet friends for dinner at Pubblico Italian Eatery or Ladera Taverna or make dinner for my boys (two hungry humans and two ravenous dogs). Downing seconds of everything, we catch up on school, soccer, girlfriends and college applications. 8 p.m.: Walk both of my standard poodles around the neighborhood. We do two miles—more if I haven’t reached 10,000 steps for the day. 9 p.m.: Curl up in a big chair with a glass of sauvignon blanc and a great novel. There are 30 on my nightstand waiting to be read! 10 p.m.: Catch headlines on 12News before thanking God for the day’s blessings and drifting off to dreamland.
