A lot of decisions go into the creation of a custom home, but with Cooper Hawk Ridge\u2014a new neighborhood within the private Talking Rock community in Prescott\u2014luckily owners are offered a wide range of design freedom. It is with this freedom that the community hopes to encourage a fresh approach to ranch architecture to uniquely fit the feel of the natural environment throughout the 41 custom home sites.<\/p>\n

Many properties in Northern Arizona are designed with a cabin-like aesthetic in mind. While Cooper Hawk Ridge owners will be advised to build with natural wood, the community encourages the exploration of design elements by incorporating materials such as steel and glass as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cCooper Hawk Ridge is a special neighborhood that will provide owners with an opportunity to design bold yet timeless homes while blending indoor and outdoor living in uniquely expressive ways,\u201d says Jim Jones, director of sales at Talking Rock. \u201cThis neighborhood will stand out for its individuality while using natural materials that complement the surrounding environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the design freedom, Cooper Hawk Ridge is also at a higher elevation than the other areas in Talking Rock, offering future homeowners a different perspective of the community\u2019s beautiful, lush landscape, lined with juniper and pinion pine trees. This elevation and landscape are meant to offer homeowners the opportunity to be more innovative and distinctive in designing their homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe like to think that we\u2019re empowering homeowners to take ranch architecture to the next level, to take a fresh approach, to consider a certain amount of unique, contemporary character when building their mountain retreat,\u201d says John E. Sather, AIA, AICP, a senior partner at Swaback Partners, who developed the design guidelines for Cooper Hawk Ridge.<\/p>\n

Being a golf course community, Cooper Hawk Ridge has two holes from the Jay Morrish-designed 18-hole championship golf course running adjacent to the neighborhood. Residents also have access to a community dog park, a coffee shop, a full-service bar, grill and restaurant, a pool and spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, hiking and biking trails, and so much more.<\/p>\n

The Cooper Hawk Ridge home sites start at $195,000, and range in size from a half-acre to two acres. The community has already secured several contracts, with a few additional reservations on other sites.<\/p>\n
