Certain counties in Arizona pile up a lot of snow in the winter. In fact, Arizona\u2019s snowiest counties have received some of the largest snowfalls and lowest temperatures in the nation, according to a report by Lawn Love<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To determine which U.S. counties pile up the most snow during winter months, Lawn Love compared 256 counties by historical snowfall records\u2014including the average annual snowfall and one-day and three-day snowfall records\u2013 in addition to the average annual temperature and the number of days with temperatures below freezing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arizona\u2019s Coconino County landed at the top of the rankings at No. 7 overall, making it one of the snowiest counties in the U.S. and the snowiest county in Arizona. Featuring cities like Flagstaff and Williams, Coconino County had an average annual historical snowfall ranking of 14 and earned a ranking of 13 and 2 for its record historical snowfall in a single day and record historical snowfall over three days, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navajo County is the next snowiest county in Arizona, ranking No. 53 overall. Navajo County\u2019s average annual historic snowfall earned a ranking of 163, while its record historical snowfall in a single day earned a ranking of 22 and its record historical snowfall over three days earned a ranking of 14. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third snowiest county in Arizona is Pima County, which ranked No. 153 overall. Pima County earned a ranking of 209 for its average annual historical snowfall, a ranking of 46 for its record historical snowfall in a single day and a ranking of 34 for its record historical snowfall over three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maricopa County also made the list as the fourth snowiest county in Arizona. Maricopa County ranked No. 233 overall and earned a ranking of 232 for its average annual historical snowfall. Its record historical snowfall in a single day earned a ranking of 223 and its record historical snowfall over three days earned a ranking of 229.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
