There are five others. They are: protein, fats, water,\nminerals and vitamins.&nbsp; Carbs contain 4 calories per gram and they include\nsugars and starches, which are biochemically similar. All forms of sugar and\nstarch digest into glucose.&nbsp; Glucose is a simple sugar that travels in the\nblood and with insulin fuels our muscles. Those that are fit tend to utilize\ncarbs better than unfit individuals.&nbsp; This is due to a number of reasons,\nincluding: fit individuals tend to exercise more so the muscles need more fuel,\nthey also tend to have more muscle mass to fat mass and muscles use glucose\nmore efficiently than fat.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, can you eat as\nmany carbs as you want?&nbsp; The answer, \u201cNo\u201d. Again, you need to be mindful\nof your overall caloric intake as well as you can overeat a certain\nmacro.&nbsp; This can be said for protein and fats as well. Think of it this\nway. Your car needs gas \u201ccarbs\u201d to run. It also needs oil \u201cprotein\u201d and\ntransmission fluid \u201cfats\u201d among other things.&nbsp; If your car is out of oil,\nbut you give it more gas, what happens? It won\u2019t run and it will overflow with\ngas. If you are eating too many carbs and not enough protein, the same thing is\nhappening. This is why I suggest you track what you\u2019re eating (use an app or\nwrite it down) and pay attention to how you\u2019re feeling, performing and\/or\nlooking based on your goals.&nbsp; Also, realize that while biochemically\nsugars and starches are the same, if you are eating too many sugars it is\neasier for your body to store fat and you may have ups and downs.
