What’s On The Fall Running Calendar?

Summer is officially over! Labor day has passed and just check out this weather today – love it! So you know what that means: time to lace up those running shoes. The race calendar is heating up fast, and it’s full of runs for every kind of warrior. I just signed up for the Ridiculous Obstacle Course myself, a 5k fun run with a belly flop drop and Tarzan swing (Ahhhahahhahah!)… but there’s literally something for everyone (even princesses!)….

Electric Run Phoenix – Friday September 13 @ 7pm
The route: 5K light bright route, a wonderland of lights and tunes
The runners: Friday night running freaks/Party-minded runners who want to get their Friday freak on
The dress code: Anything goes, but the blinkier, the better (think neon, bright, glowy, shiny digs)
The swag: Glow in the dark goodies galore!

Ragner Trail Relay – October 18 & 19
The route: Overnight team relay race – 120 miles through the McDowell Mountains (the race takes an average of 22 hours to complete)
The runners: Team-minded trail runners. Not for the weak of heart, or the casual runner
The dress code: High-tech running gear, blister protection, layers, layers and more layers
The swag: Medals that double as bottle openers

45th Annual Y Race Phoenix – Sunday October 20th @ 7am
The route: Half marathon, 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run at South Mountain Park
Arizona’s most historic running event. The Y Race Phoenix, now in its 45th year, is the oldest road race in Arizona
The runners: All ages and speeds
The dress code: Your fave running gear
The swag: Y Race shirt + goodie bag

The Princess 5K Race – Saturday October 26 @ 9am
The route: 5K fun run/walk at Keirland Commons
The runners: Princesses and frog princes – 3 minutes after the ladies start, the guys will begin!
The dress code: Princess casual
The swag: Blinged out swag bag

The Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge (ROC Race) – November 2 & 3
The route: 5k run/walk course at Salt River Fields tricked out with obstacles, like the infamous Wrecking Ball, the World’s Largest Inflatable Moon Bounce and the World’s Largest Inflatable Slide
The runners: Runners who don’t take themselves too seriously
The dress code: Dress to get wet… and wild!
The swag: Finisher tee
