I’m inspired by…

My kids are an ongoing source of inspiration to me. Watching my clients meet and reach their goals in making healthy changes to their lives also inspires me to continue to pursue an active, healthy lifestyle.

The perfect day would be…

Sleeping in, practicing yoga, spending the day with my family (doing something active), cooking dinner, followed by date night with my hubby (we love seeing movies!).

Favorite calorie-burner…

I love to mix-up my workouts! My weekly go-to exercises include dance, yoga and weight training. When I want to kick it up a notch I hit the track for some high-powered sprints and bleacher runs!

My fridge is always stocked with…

Vegetables! I also love to have seeds on hand to grab as a snack or throw in my favorite recipes to add in some healthy fats and protein. My favorites include chia, flax, pumpkin and sunflower seeds!

One think I cannot live without…

People! I believe we all draw energy from one another.  I love surrounding myself with positive, self-motivated people… we need each other to continue to learn and grow.

The one person who motivates me is…

Many people in my life motivate me in one way or another but I am definitely internally motivated to be the best version of myself. I want to feel good, be healthy, be a good mom, wife and friend and someone who helps to support others in living a healthy happy life.

No sweat session is complete without…

A nourishing and replenishing post workout meal! My new favorite is a U Rock Girl smoothie made with kale, spinach, apple, pineapple and lime... so delicious!

My motivation…

My motivation has always been knowing I can always get better, striving to improve my health and body each year.

My stress relief…

Dancing! It’s always been my go-to stress reliever! I love teaching dance classes and hitting the floor with my girlfriends to have fun, let go and let loose!

The best medicine…

The best medicine is a combination of good nutrition, moving the body and getting plenty of sleep. It’s all about finding the right balance in your life and discovering what works for you!

I’m listening to…

104.7 KISS FM Johnjay and Rich.

Best fitness/nutrition advice…

The best advice I can give for long-term success is to build a foundation. The key is to find a fitness/nutrition plan that works for you and be consistent. Figure out what makes you feel good and develop a plan that you can stick with.  It’s not about hitting a number on the scale and then reverting back to bad habits. It’s about choosing every day to live a healthy lifestyle. This means you have wiggle room to cheat on occasion but you always go back to your foundation.

Best habit…

I make it a habit to plan my week by preparing my food ahead of time and thinking about which days I will workout. I also allow myself to get off track and don’t beat myself up if I do. I just wake up knowing that today I can make a new choice to eat well and exercise my body and feel great!

My fitness goal…

Winning the 2009 Fitness America Pageant fulfilled a huge fitness goal for me. Since then, it’s been about being consistent, keeping my body healthy and strong and striving to continue to improve my overall fitness and strength.

My healthy haven…

I have two favorite healthy havens! Lifetime Fitness is my absolute sanctuary for moving my body and staying fit. Whole Foods is my go-to place for buying fresh organic vegetables and lean proteins. Just walking in the doors of both give me a sense of calm and well-being!

Secret to happiness…

Find your passion, know what makes you tick. We all have an intuitive inner guide — don’t be afraid to follow it. Embrace your life and yourself exactly as you are today. Yes, you can always improve, but I think we tend to be too hard on ourselves. Be okay with who you are just as you are today.

Always…

Smile 🙂

Never…

Have regrets.
