Dads will be driving themselves to new levels of performance at Bondurant this Father’s Day.

ENDURO ZOOM

The world-famous Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving will be hosting its annual Father’s Day Performance Driving Experience Saturday, June 16, the day before the holiday. Dads and their families may enroll in the four-hour course, 8 a.m.– Noon.

Founded in 1968 by legendary racecar driver Bob Bondurant, the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is the only purpose-built facility of its kind in the world and the official high-performance driving school of Chevrolet.

During its 44 years, the school’s instructors have trained more than 400,000 people, professionals as well as everyday drivers, to become safer and more proficient at handling the challenges of track, street and highway driving.

“Our Father’s Day course is always a highlight of the year,” says the school’s founder and CEO, Bob Bondurant. “I’m a dad, and I expect to be out there as well.” Bondurant, 79, was part of Carroll Shelby’s racing team in 1965 which won the F.I.A. World Manufacturer’s Championship — still the only American team to win this prestigious event.

Father’s Day students will drive Bondurant vehicles in four activities:

  • Timed Autocross Competition — Drivers negotiate a road course while practicing complete car control against the clock. The fastest times will be announced at the end of the program;
  • Lead and Follow — Participants will follow a Bondurant instructor on the racetrack, learning the proper “racing line” and cornering techniques in a high-performance Camaro SS;
  • Accident Avoidance — which provides road experience reacting to critical decisions; and
  • Go-Karting — F1 champion Michael Schumacher calls this one of the best ways to prepare for competitive driving.

To enroll for the Father’s Day session or give dad a gift that he’ll talk about for years, call Bruce Adler, Bondurant sales associate, 480.403.7615. Price per person is $399, and space is limited for the always packed event. A few slots remain open.

“Everyone gains some new skills at Bondurant, whether that person is a NASCAR or Formula 1 driver or just a dad who wants to hone his abilities for everyday highway and street driving,” explains Darren Law, COO, former school instructor and pro driver. “So, if dad is an amateur weekend racer, a car lover or a family member who just wants to drive safer, Bondurant this Father’s Day weekend is the place to be.”
