The 2nd annual Shea Homes Glow Run at Encanterra is right around the corner and we can’t wait to get our running shoes on! If you didn’t go to last year’s Shea Homes Glow Run, don’t worry- we’ve got all the information you and your family need to join in on this unique experience!
Shea Homes and Arizona Foothills have collaborated with Streetlight Phx to bring attention to a very important event hosted at Encanterra. Streetlight Phx has taken the initiative of eradicating child sex slavery, not only in Arizona, but all over the country. Their goal is to educate the public through social media efforts, interactive awareness screenings, public speaking engagements and events such as the Shea Homes Glow Run.
Did you know the average age of entry into prostitution in the United States is 13? Did you know over 300,000 of these victims roam the streets somewhere in the United States at any given time? Involving state legislators to pass laws protecting these children as well as creating a facility to house underage victims are just a few of the ways Streetlight Phx is making a difference in these children’s lives. Now, victims of child sex slavery have a safe house where counseling, mentoring, healthcare and a variety of other healing methods are available.
What makes the Shea Homes Glow Run so unique is the luminary lit Encanterra course and its truly generous participants. Last year over 10,000 luminaries lit the 5k or 10k course. An opportunity to sponsor a $5 luminary can really make an impact for Streetlight Phx. Arizona Area President of Shea Homes said, “Protecting young children from sexual exploitation is what the Shea Homes Glow Run is all about. Come out and support this cause at Encanterra so together we can bring awareness to the devastating reality those children face.”
In addition to sponsoring a luminary, there are corporate sponsorships. In order to make the Shea Homes Glow Run a success, it depends on sponsors. Sponsorship packages start at $500 and come with a variety of marketing opportunities.
Another great way to bring awareness to Streetlight Phx, is by referring runners. Rewards from the Encanterra, are up for grabs; for example, free golf rounds and Honorary Family Memberships at the club.
