Description

For the ninth consecutive year KTAR News 92.3 FM and 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station will team up with Phoenix Children’s Hospital to raise a goal of more than $1 million in just 19 hours to benefit the Hospital’s patients. The Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s Hospital presented by Valley Hyundai Dealers, is one of the Hospital’s largest fundraisers and the second-largest event of its kind in the country. Bonneville’s two stations will simulcast live from the Hospital Cafeteria on Wednesday, August 16 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday, August 17 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Give-A-Thon features patient families sharing their inspirational stories, a phone bank staffed by volunteers, partner check presentations and celebrity appearances. Listeners will be invited to become Champions of Hope by making a monthly pledge of $20 or more or a one-time gift of $240 or more. A cuddly teddy bear will be given to a hospitalized patient in the name of each Champion of Hope.

Popular on-air personalities from the two stations will be on hand to host the event, including: KTAR’s Jim Sharpe, Jayme West, Detour Dan Beach, Bruce St. James, Pamela Hughes, Mac Watson, Larry Gaydos, Darin Damme, Pat McMahon; and Arizona Sports’ Doug Franz, Ron Wolfley, Paul Calvisi, Bertrand Berry, Mike Jurecki, Dan Bickley, Vince Marotta, Dave Burns and John Gambadoro.

Visit GiveAThonforPCH.com to give at any time or call 602-933-4567 to donate during the event and become a Champion of Hope.

Every dollar raised benefits the patients treated at Phoenix Children’s. Donors can receive a dollar for dollar Arizona state tax credit in 2017 — up to $200 for an individual and $400 for joint filing.
