If you don’t have a few days booked at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess this summer, you are missing out. You see, the resort promises the Best. Summer. Ever. via a fun-filled slew of seasonal programming for the whole family (now through Labor Day). Have kiddos in tow? Here are four can’t-miss summer programs at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. (And be sure not to forget their free Summer at the Princess ball cap at the children’s check-in desk!)
Ahoy, Matey!
Fairmont Scottsdale Princess takes poolside fun to an all-new level each weekend afternoon this summer. At noon on Saturdays and Sundays, little buckaroos are invited to Sunset Beach pool for free storytime and a treasure hunt with Cap’t Jack and his pirate pals. After the story is read, pee-wee pirates follow Cap’t Jack—and his trusty compass—on a treasure hunt throughout the Sunset Beach area. The hunt concludes with kiddos taking a turn to pick a few goodies from the treasure chest.
If your kiddo is more of an Ariel fan, they will have their once-in-a-lifetime chance to swim with mermaids—and earn their own brightly colored tail—via Mermaid University (fees apply). Plus, the mermaids make a few appearances throughout the day at Sunset Beach to interact with curious kiddos.
Say Cheese
Since Mom and Dad simply cannot let a stay at Fairmont go by without a few photo opps, why not really get into the social-media spirit? The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has welcomed a new Instagram Concierge who has curated a photo tip sheet for the ideal locations, composition, time of day, filters and app recommendations to take the best shots. And the resort has arranged six fun photo opps throughout the property where kids can pose with larger-than-life ice pops, a huge “Catch of the Day” fish, a giant beach ball and flip flops and, our favorite, a vibrant “Best. Summer. Ever.” mural in Princess Plaza. Finding these pose-worthy spots can be a game in itself.
Foam FOMO
Foam parties don’t just apply to nightclubs anymore. Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has added sudsy foam parties to its summer programming. At certain times throughout the weekend at the Sonoran Splash pool and Sunset Beach, pint-size partiers can frolic in heaps of fun foam. Don’t be surprised if your kiddos are seen sporting Santa-like bubble beards.
Air-Conditioned Amusement
Even when you’re having a great time, it can still get hot out there. It is Arizona, after all. So resort-goers who need a little break from all that fun in the sun can head to the Trailblazers Recreation Center. Though the resort hosts a kid’s club at the center earlier in the day (the daily resort fee includes up to three children ages 5 to 12 for a free, half-day session in the kid's club), come 1 p.m. the rec center becomes a come-one-come-all indoor family fun zone. Kids can burn off some energy via BEAM interactive floor games, foosball, billiards, ping pong, video games and much more—in the comfort of an air-conditioned space. And there are comfy chairs for Mom and Dad, too.
The “Best. Summer. Ever.” vacation package starts from $179 per night and includes a daily $50 resort credit and complimentary session with the Instagram Concierge. This package is available now through Sept. 4.
