During the first-ever Pixar Fest, which kicked off in April and takes place through Sept. 3, Disney Parks present some of the beloved stories from Pixar Animation Studios in new ways at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks, with characters and experiences from films like Disney•Pixar’s beloved  “Toy Story,” “Monsters, Inc.,” “Finding Nemo” and “Up.”

Guests will notice everything from fun new décor, including the cool abstract characters seen in the Downtown Disney landscaping, to creative themed food and beverage (with favorites being the variety of specially-flavored churros, the "Toy Story"-inspired green alien macaron at the Alien Pizza Planet and Jolly Holiday Bakery Café's colorful, “Up”-inspired pastries and eclairs). The stars of Pixar Fest, though, are the incredible new parades and fresh nighttime spectacular that wow families from the get-go.

The daytime Pixar Play Parade (pictured above and on opening page) at Disneyland delights park-goers of all ages, lead by the iconic Pixar Lamp. During the music-filled, energy-packed parade, guests ooh and aah at the sight of Pixar favorites like the Incredibles family, Dory and Nemo, Joy and Sadness, Carl Fredricksen, Kevin and Dug, Mike and Sulley and countless other animated superstars. The Pixar Play Parade closes with a magical appearance from Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear. Insider tip: Be sure to get a front-row spot as many of the characters and dancers interact with the nearby youngsters via high-fives and friendly games of catch with oversize Pixar-theme balls. In the evening, Disney California Adventure welcomes the “Paint the Night” parade, with guests taking in the parade’s 1.5 million, brilliant LED lights and catchy tunes.

For the most magical end to an evening at Disneyland, the “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” (pictured) is an emotional journey through many of the most prized Disney•Pixar flicks, introduced by Buzz Lightyear as he flies over Sleeping Beauty Castle. Scenes from "Up," "Finding Nemo," "Cars," "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc.," "Coco" and others are projected onto iconic park locations (Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A.). Guests are left in awe of the magical sight, accompanied by music and, of course, Disneyland's adored fireworks spectacular. Keep an eye on a special, jaw-dropping appearance from Carl Fredricksen's "Up" house, kept afloat by balloons.
