Friday:
Splash-in Movies at The Quarter: Jumanji
Don’t miss movie features on the big screen at Scottsdale Quarter at the Splash-in Movies at The Quarter. Free to attend, this family-friendly series will show double features of favorites old and new. The splash pad will be on during both movie showings for kiddos to splash and play as they’re entertained. On May 4, enjoy the 1995 version of “Jumanji” at 3 p.m. following by the 2017 version at 6 p.m.
CinePark May Movie Series: Coco
CinePark is a free three-week movie series in May that will show recently released family-friendly flicks under the stars at Chandler’s Tumbleweed Park. On May 4, “Coco” will be the featured film. Movie-related activities will be available for kids to enjoy from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the movie starting at 8 p.m. This is a free event.
Teddy Bear Tea Party at AZ Air Time
Calling all preschoolers! Ages 6 and under are invited to bring their favorite teddy bear to jump and play with at AZ Air Time trampoline park on May 4 from 10 a.m. to noon. Complimentary iced tea, lemonade, and cookies will be served to the children. Coffee will also be served to the parents. Special admission pricing is $6 per hour per child. Foam pit and rock wall climbing is included with admission. Jump socks are required.

Cinco de Mario
TV star Mario Lopez has chosen Scottsdale as the place to throw the ultimate family-friendly Cinco de Mayo party: Cinco de Mario. The event, taking place at Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza on May 5 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will have a little something for everyone. Party people can enjoy Mexican gourmet goods at the authentic mercado; sip and savor at the Rosé Wine Garden; enjoy a Craft Beer Cantina with cornhole and craft beer; and take in live entertainment, a kid’s zone and even a “Saved by the Bell” lookalike contest (Lopez did rise to fame as the TV show’s character AC Slater, after all). General admission is $15 online in advance, $20 at the gate. The Mansion VIP tickets are $100 online in advance and include five drink tickets, a private bar, upgraded food available for purchase, upgraded restrooms and more. VIP and Mario Meet-and-Greet tickets are $200 online in advance and include a meet-and-greet with Lopez, complimentary drinks and food, upgraded restrooms and more. Kids 12 and under are free.
Bubble Bash
Westgate Entertainment District is excited to welcome back their third annual Bubble Bash on May 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with children of all ages invited to experience all the fun as millions of bubbles fill the air at the West Valley entertainment destination. During the event, guests will enjoy new demonstrations and activities including interactive discovery stations, where they can make their own bubble wands, learn the science behind bubbles and play among millions of bubbles. The event promises a day of fun for the whole family with live entertainment, prizes, contests and more.
Kierland Concert Series: The Real Thing
Enjoy the Kierland Concert Series, presented by J. Jill every Saturday at 6 to 8 p.m., from April 21 through May 19 in the Center Plaza. Frost Gelato Cart & Crepe Club will be present at every concert offering delicious home-made gelato and crepes. On May 5, enjoy pop and rock tunes from The Real Thing.
Children Helping Children” Coloring Contest at Benihana
Every year on May 5, Japan honors its children’s health, prosperity and happiness with a nationwide celebration. Once again, Benihana is bringing this holiday to life with it’s annual “Children Helping Children” coloring contest. Now through May 5, children who dine at the restaurant may participate in the coloring contest. One winner will be selected in each restaurant to receive a dinner for eight friends of family members at Benihana.

Through the end of 2018, Legoland Discovery Center at Arizona Mills in Tempe hosts a Jurassic-sized adventure, Dino Explorer, with a wide range of dino activities (like building Lego dinosaurs and snapping a pic with a Lego T-Rex!) and playful learning.
Sonoran Safari at i.d.e.a. Museum
Head to i.d.e.a. Museum in Mesa to explore the artistic landscape of the world’s 11th largest desert—the only place where the famous saguaro cactus grows in the wild—during the limited-time exhibit, Sonoran Safari. Through art and hands-on activities, guests learn about the desert’s native plants, animals, reptiles and birds. On view through May 27.
