This weekend, Jan. 26-28, is jam-packed with tons of fun activities for you and your kiddos. From classic plays and scientific activities to hot air balloons and sugar highs, the whole family will enjoy the sweet treats the Valley has to offer this weekend.

The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts

The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe is going to be performed this Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. So come watch the magic unfold in the C.S. Lewis classic and travel to Narnia this Friday evening with your kids!

Arizona Balloon Classic

The Arizona Balloon Classic kicks off this weekend featuring hot air balloon races at dawn, delicious food all day, the enchanting evening glow, and a weekend full of family-friendly fun. There will be a food truck/street food festival, children's inflatables, a zip line, vendors and tethered hot air balloon rides. This year’s festivities will kick off on Friday, Jan. 26 when gates open at 4 p.m., continue Saturday starting at 7:45 a.m. and ending Sunday evening. To purchase tickets click here.

Legally Blonde, The Musical at Starlight Community Theater

This weekend kicks off the Legally Blonde, The Musical, run at the Starlight Community Theater in Phoenix. Legally Blonde, The Musical is a show that incorporates the overcoming of stereotypes and obstacles a young woman encounters in order to achieve her dreams. Showtimes are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here

DC Ranch Day: DC Ranch’s 20th Anniversary

This Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m., DC Ranch in Scottsdale will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Come join this 4,400-acre community for an admission-free event as you travel back to the old Western days of North Scottsdale. Fun activities during this celebration include an Old West shootout, panning for gold, a chance for vintage photos, a petting zoo and a great assortment of country music. Food, drinks and desserts will be available for purchase from booths provided by restaurants located on Market Street.

S’more Sweets Festival

Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice: S’more Sweets Festival is coming to Founders Park in Queen Creek Saturday, Jan. 27. Partake in pie-eating, karaoke and an array of other family-friendly entertainment options to work off those sweets. Not only does this event promise sugar highs for the whole family, it’s all conducted to support the Mission of Mercy Arizona, which provides medical treatments and services for the area’s underserved. Known to exceed all expectations, this “Candyland come to life” event is $8 per person online and kids 8 and under are free.

The University of Arizona's Connect2STEM in Downtown Phoenix

The University of Arizona’s very own Wilber and Wilma will be in Downtown Phoenix this weekend inspiring young minds to explore science, technology, engineering, math and medicine. To capture the attention of these young minds, there will be 100-plus hands-on activities where guests can touch synthetic cadavers, explore real space equipment and network with STEM professionals. A Career Zone for high school students will be present, so they can learn more about the professions they are wanting to pursue; as well as a Connect2Careers meet and greet with medical professionals and students, intel engineers and scientists. Connect2STEM is a complimentary event and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.

Pine Canyon Winter Celebration and Open House

If you are looking for a cooler weekend day trip, Pine Canyon, a luxurious residential and golf community in Flagstaff, is hosting a winter celebration and open house this Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Enjoy food and drinks from Mother Road Brewery, Ski Haus, Arizona Snowbowl and Mamma Kneads Dough while the kiddos enjoy sledding (weather permitting) and ice skating tips from coaches of the Flagstaff Figure Skating Club.

Reopening of the Uptown Plaza

Use your Saturday to celebrate the rebirth of a Phoenix landmark. The Uptown Plaza is finally complete! To commemorate the ending of this three-year rebuilding journey, an all-day festival is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be live music from the local favorite Vinyl Station, a free yoga class and cooking demos on the new grass-lined and fountain-filled courtyard, food and drink tastings and one-day-only discounts at Uptown Plaza's exciting new lineup of shops, restaurants and more.  Furthermore, you have the chance to enter to win a $1,000 shopping spree. Jump in Your Favorite Superhero Costume at AZ Air Time 

This Sunday, Jan. 28, AZ Air Time in Scottsdale is hosting a special treat. They are inviting all children to dress up as their favorite superhero and jump the day away. There will be countless photo ops with staff members who will also be dressed up and great discounts on the attractions. Admission for children ages 6 and under is $9 for the 1st hour and $6 per extra hour; for ages 7 and older, it will be $14 for the 1st hour and $9 per extra hour. So whether your child wants to channel Spiderman on the rock wall, or sore like Superman off the trampoline into the foam pit, AZ Air Time has something for them. So grab their favorite pair of jump socks and get them ready to have a blast.
