1.AZ State Fair

Starting Oct. 16, the Arizona State Fair is back. You will be guaranteed entertainment with an assortment of rides, attractions, fair food options, and live performances on certain nights. Tickets for adults are $6 and $3 for children. Age does not matter when it comes to this event because it will be fun for all.

2. Old Town Farmers Market

The farmers market in Old Town is a great weekend excursion for the family if you want to enjoy the cooler weather and partake in some delicious organic produce. There will also be seasonal options to partake in like cider, flowers, natural pork, free-range eggs, and local cheeses. It’s located at the corner of Brown and 1st street. This family event will not just be fun, but good for you too.

3. Halloween Party at AZ Air Time

Have the kids’ Halloween costumes ready by Oct 25, so they can come to AZ Air Time Trampoline Park, ready to party! They will be hosting a Halloween party from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. that includes trick-or-treat stations and of course lots and lots of trampoline fun. Admission is $7 for the first hour for ages 6 and under and  $12 for ages 7 and up. Hop on over before the party ends!

4. Monthly Brunch Flight

First, you will board Cessna Caravan Amphibious Seaplane and witness gorgeous views of the McDowell Mountains, Apache Trail, and the Indian Ruins of Tonto National Forest. You will then land at Roosevelt Lake and be greeted by FnB famed chef, Charleen Badman, co-owner Pavle Milic, and an Arizona wine maker. You will be able to indulge in food, drink, and of course the friendly company of the others with you before the flight back home. This unforgettable experience starts Oct. 10. It celebrates the beauty of Arizona and allows you to relax and unwind at the same time.

5. Phoenix Zoo Pumpkin Chomp and Stomp

The whole month of October is dedicated to celebrating fall at the zoo. During the Pumpkin Chomp and Stomp, you can watch all kinds of different animals enjoy and snack on pumpkins and other treats. Every Sunday will feature different animals including elephants, cheetahs, baboons, Andean bears, and more. While you’re there don’t forget to check out the family-friendly “Haunted Lighthouse 4-D” at the 4-D theatre in the zoo. There will also be fall-themed décor so the camera is a must too. General admission is $20 for adults and $14 for children.

6.17th Annual Vertuccio Farms Fall Festival

During the entire month of October, Vertuccio Farms will be having their 17th Fall Festival and Corn Maze. This event will include delicious snacks like freshly popped kettle corn, pizza, and other fair-food delicacies. After getting your fill of food, don’t forget to check out all the fun activities too. There will be a corn maze, pedal cars, tube slide, pumpkin patch, and their new giant jump pad. It costs $9 per person and parking is free. It will be a fun and fall-themed adventure for you and the kids.

7. Stagecoach Days

Stagecoach Days is brought to you by the City of Maricopa and is a two week-long series of different activities to celebrate our community and all of the history that comes along with it. It will start on Saturday, Oct. 10 and last until Sunday, Oct. 25. All the activities will promote cooperation, volunteerism, and generate spirit within the community. Toward the end of the series, the city of Maricopa will be hosting the Third Annual Mud Run. This muddy extravaganza will take place Saturday, Oct. 24 and is for people of all athletic levels. Everyone is welcome to participate and complete the course at his/her own comfortable pace; whether that’s running, walking or even crawling.

 8. 10th Annual Wild Western Festival

The 10th Annual Wild Western Festival will be back from Oct. 23 through Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Head on down to Sahuaro Ranch Historic Park, for Best in the West entertainment, live music, cowboy singers, and more western themed fun. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 dollars for children. Each day will have different attractions and shows to enjoy. For the die-hard western movie fans, be sure to stay around and meet famous movie stars from different western movies and shows.

9. Talk Cinema

If you consider yourself a movie buff, you are not going to want to miss this event organized by critic, Harlan Jacobson. Talk Cinema will be presenting sneak previews of award-winning indie and foreign films that range from a light comedy to a thought-provoking documentary. You will be apart of the audience to see this movie for the first time and have the opportunity to discuss it with special guests. The experience is very similar to a critic’s at a film festival and will leave you feeling like an industry insider. Tickets are $17 and the first opportunity to see these movies are Oct. 13 at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

10. Great Pumpkin Festival

With fall, comes lots and lots of pumpkins that need to find a good home. The Great Pumpkin Festival will be held at Desert Botanical Garden from Oct. 23 until Oct. 25 and starts at 8:30 a.m. all three days. You will be taken on a fun hayride to the Garden’s pumpkin patch and children that are under the age of 12 get to choose a pumpkin to take home for free. You don’t want to miss other fun activities like the Amazing Hay Bale Maze and cute farm animals from the petting zoo. There will be interactive carnival games and other Country and Western entertainment. This fall-themed event allows for a good time with the family in a truly beautiful surrounding.  All of the activities and hayride are included with Garden admission.
