Believe it or not, there are indeed pumpkin patches located in the desert. In fact, Arizona has more than 10 fantastic patches to choose from this holiday season. Gather the family and exude autumn joy within these superb seasonal festivities.

Schnepf Farms: Pumpkin and Chili Party [Queen Creek, AZ]

Voted one of the best fall festivals in the Valley, Schnepf Farms is back again and hosting its annual Pumpkin and Chili Party. From spinning teacups (new!) to pig races, you’ll never want to leave Schnepf Farms. Your visit truly wouldn’t be complete without trying some world-class chili or succotash. Desert Ridge Marketplace's 2nd Annual Pumpkin Patch [Paradise Valley, AZ]

From Oct. 19 through 30, experience fall festival fun at Desert Ridge Marketplace for their 2nd Annual Pumpkin Patch. Guests can sip on free cider while kiddos pick from a wide selection of pumpkins to bring home. Face painting is free on specially selected dates, and on the Oct. 19, the fun continues with a Creepy Candy Crawl from 4 to 6 p.m. The patch is open from 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, times vary on the weekends. Vertuccio Farms: Fall Festival [Mesa, AZ]

It’s pumpkin picking season at Vertuccio Farms from Sept. 30 to Nov. 3. This Fall Festival is known for its 5-acre corn maze and mini zip line for the kiddos. The activity list is lengthy so you’ll want to start early. Fall Festival opens at 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Closing times differ depending on the date. Tickets are $10 per person, and free for children under the age of 2. 

The Pumpkin Patch Train [Williams, AZ]

All aboard! If you’re looking for a unique seasonal experience, take a ride on The Pumpkin Patch Train. Attendees can dress up in their Halloween costumes and enjoy a magical train ride through the Arizona countryside. The train takes guests to a hidden pumpkin patch to pick from, and then decorate your pumpkin of choice back at the Williams Depot. This special outing only occurs eight times throughout October. Autumnfest [Anthem, AZ]

Tis’ the season for the community of Anthem to host its free fall festival, Autumnfest. Celebrate autumn and all of its beauty with arts and crafts, as well as pumpkin picking. There is also a raffle and live entertainment for the parents. Autumnfest is open Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. 

Marana Pumpkin Patch & Farm Festival [Marana, AZ]

Post Farms presents the 2019 Marana Pumpkin Patch and Farm Festival. From Saturday Oct. 5 through Oct. 30, visitors can purchase pumpkins, ride the mini train, experience a corn maze and more. Tickets begin at $11 and go up depending on age and date. Come out from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekend. 

Pumpkin Patch at Mother Nature’s Farm [Gilbert, AZ]

Starting Oct. 1, Mother Nature’s Farm hosts its annual Pumpkin Patch. The entrance fee is $10 per child, which includes a pumpkin and adventurous activities. Adults pay $5 per person and will surely enjoy the food selection, room for the kids to roam, and of course, pumpkins. The patch will be open for the entire month of October from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Apple Annie’s Orchard: Fall Pumpkin Celebration [Willcox, AZ]

Apple Annie’s Orchard Fall Pumpkin Celebration is one you and your family won’t want to miss. Opening at 8:30 a.m. for a fall-themed breakfast, you’ll have plenty of energy to roam the vast orchard of fruit and fields of pumpkins. Historic Hitchin’ Post Stables: Flagstaff Pumpkin Patch Festival [Flagstaff, AZ]

Giddy up, the Flagstaff Pumpkin Patch Festival is back with horse-drawn tractor rides and plenty of pumpkins. Open Wednesday through Sunday in October, admission costs $12 for fun ‘til sundown. Specific hours vary. You won’t want to miss out on their famous petting zoo and classic home cooking. For more information on the festival, click here

MacDonald’s Ranch [Scottsdale, AZ]

Pan for gold, or ride the mechanical bull at MacDonald’s Ranch Annual Pumpkin Patch. You can visit any time from Oct. 4 to Oct. 31. The patch is open every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on Tuesdays. Tickets start at $10 and guarantees a fun-filled day to kick off the start of fall. 

Mortimer Farms: Pumpkin Festival [Dewey, AZ]

Starting Sept. 27, enjoy fall on the farm at Mortimer Farms Pumpkin Festival. There will be 40-plus rides to choose from, inspired by the season. Don’t leave without visiting the U-pick pumpkin patch or the massive corn maze. The festival will be open until Oct. 27; hours vary. Tickets start at $10.
