Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery will feature special guest artist Kim Walker during the “Demonstrate” Artwalk, along with owner and artist, Cyndy Carstens on November 10th.
Kim Walker is a Phoenix based artist whose paintings examine how beauty and inspiration can be found in the natural environment. Her paintings incorporate natural elements, which she collects during her time in nature. Additionally, the back of each painting features a poem, hand written by Kim, that complements the art with her wisdom and lessons about the significance of humanity’s relationship with our natural environment. Kim received her BFA degree in Painting from Arizona State University. She is represented by five galleries, including Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery in Bellevue, Washington, and Renee Taylor Gallery in Sedona.
Cyndy Carstens creates amazing oil paintings exploring expansive spaces, moments of stillness and faith while reinventing portrayals of the southwestern landscape. Her paintings “bring one to focus and reflect on an awareness of ethereal atmospheres and intimate details of nature”, states Carstens. Carstens uses a broad spectrum of colors blending realism and abstraction, resulting in beautiful and meditative artworks. Carstens has exhibited her work extensively across the country. Her work is represented at her own gallery, and UGallery, of San Francisco, CA. In addition to creating and selling beautiful art, Carstens is a philanthropist donating a portion of each sale to support several local charities and cancer research.
The “Demonstrate” Artwalk will showcase a stunning collection of artwork from both artists, in addition to Carstens and Walker demonstrating their painting techniques throughout the evening. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres accompanied by live music performed by Guitarist John Calvert just outside the gallery from 6:30pm until 9:30pm. The Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery is located at 7077 E. Main Street #5 in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, AZ. The gallery and studio are open daily.
