This Friday, October 2nd head to downtown Phoenix for an amazing First Friday and the kick off of the fall season!

Visitors had the chance to explore two incredible and renowned art districts, Roosevelt Row and Grand Avenue. Enjoy museums, artisan markets, art galleries, food trucks, live music and more spread throughout downtown with the fun kicking off at 6pm!

The Phoenix Art Museum is showcasing several excellent exhibition but a must see is "Masters of Spanish Colonial Art" featuring a remarkable selection of 18th century in the Viceroyalty of Peru (Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, among other modern South American nations) paintings, 19th century retablos produced in Mexico and two silver and gold plaques recently acquired by Phoenix Art Museum. “Works showcase the inventiveness, originality, and skill of artists working in the Spanish viceroyalties during the 18th century illustrating religious imagery and its multifaceted meanings in the colonial world.” The exhibition will be on view February 28, 2016 for more about this exhibition visit: http://www.phxart.org/exhibition/colonialmasters.

ChaosTheory16Chaos Theory 16 is Randy Slack’s annual group exhibition features more than 50 local artists at Legend City Studios. This legendary exhibition is now in its 16th year offering an exciting array of work painting, drawing, photography, video and more from some of the valley favorite artists including Randy Slack, Brandon Sullivan, Pete Deise, Lori Fenn, and Mayme Kratz just to name a few. The IceHouse is featuring a small group exhibition “Just Another Art Show.... Or Is It?” featuring a variety of mixed artwork from Jesse Perry, Trey Shaw and Taylor Jensen. There will also be live music courtesy of Parker Modern. "Just Another Art Show", will feature a new body of work from Perry, Shaw and Jensen that explores the depths of each of the artist’s decade-old series of work with a modern perspective. The Ice House is located at 429 W. The monOrchid is hosting the Opening Reception for their latest October exhibitions. "Paradigm Shift” solo exhibition of Robert Gentile in Shade Gallery, Thermal Phx winner art and skilled artist who is creating riveting works in a variety of mediums including spray paint, acrylic, markers, and pastels. {9} Gallery Tara Sharpe is hosting the exhibit “Sirens and Serpents: The Art of Tara Sharpe” featuring hand-pulled block prints, works on paper, and large scale oil paintings. This exhibition highlights the artist love of nudity and post-impressionist expressionism.
