AMF FAVE: Most\u00a0Influential\u00a0in Valley Food:\u00a0<\/strong>Sam Fox, Founder, Fox Restaurant Concepts<\/strong><\/p>\n

How did you get into the restaurant world?<\/strong> I am a third-generation restaurateur who spent\u00a0much of my childhood at my family’s restaurants. I worked for my dad, I waited and bused\u00a0tables. When I was 21, I opened my first restaurant in Tucson: Giligans Bar & Grill then in 1998\u00a0came Wildflower, also in Tucson.<\/p>\n

Biggest professional accomplishment?<\/strong> When every new restaurant opens its doors to serve. My\u00a0excitement is the same today as it was 50 restaurants ago.<\/p>\n

Most rewarding part of your job?<\/strong> Getting to work with my team. It’s their hard work and\u00a0dedication that helps make me and our company look good.<\/p>\n

Best dish:<\/strong> Korean-style ribeye cap at Culinary Dropout. If you haven\u2019t had it yet, I highly\u00a0recommend it.<\/p>\n

Hidden Valley gem:<\/strong> Los Compadres. A great spot for a quick lunch.<\/p>\n

Scenic spot:<\/strong> At the top of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, 32nd Street Trailhead.<\/p>\n
