Nearly two months since the tragic passing of 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters, the residents at Talking Rock Ranch in Prescott have planned a golf tournament that will honor the fallen heroes and raise funds for their families. On Monday, August 19, the tournament will host four-player teams to play the Talking Rock golf course for a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Individual play for the tournament, which is open to public participation, is available for $500 per golfer, while foursomes are available for $1,800. In addition to taking part in the tournament, golfers will enjoy lunch, dinner and a commemorative memento.

The residents in the Prescott community have already raised $100,000 to donate through golf registrations as well as corporate sponsors, which include APS, DLB Custom Homes and Inland Valley Construction. Donations will also be accepted at the event. The United Phoenix Firefighters Association is administering the donations to the families of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots on behalf of the Prescott Firefighters Association.
