During May, which is American Stroke Awareness Month, and in conjunction with the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, John C. Lincoln Hospitals will offer free stroke screenings, related medical testing, counseling and community education. The 15-minutes testing is normally a $58 value.

• Thursday, May 9, 8 a.m. to noon, in Barb’s Conference Room in the Cowden Center, 9202 N. Second St., Phoenix, on the campus of John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital, which is nationally accredited as a Primary Stroke Center.

• Wednesday, May 22, 6 to 8 p.m., in Conference Room 400, Medical Office Building 1, 19841 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, on the campus of John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital.
