Whether it was the mild temps, the sunny skies or the gathering of the world's top golfers, Valley dwellers and visitors came out to the Waste Management Phoenix Open in herds this weekend--even setting a record. Saturday's third round attendance of 179,022 set an all-time single-day record at the Waste Management Phoenix Open--and in professional golf history as a whole. The previous single-day attendance mark of 173, 210 was set last during, also during the third round. What a great day for golf, the local economy and the Valley.
Fun fact: With its record-setting numbers, the TPC Scottsdale was Arizona's eighth most populated "city" on Saturday.
