As an answer to the millions of Americans asking "What can I do?" in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, honor those lost and inspire people to act during the holiday season, Ann Curry has initiated 20 Acts of Kindness.

Curry asked her Twitter followers to imagine what would happen if everybody committed to 20 Acts of Kindness this holiday season, and Tweet their acts with the hashtag #20Acts. She was met with tens of thousands of acts of kindness, with many upping the ante to #26Acts and #28Acts to honor all the victims.

People have given to the homeless, paid off stranger's layaway balances at Toys R Us, brought gifts to those in the hosipital, sent Christmas cards to the Sandy Hook first responders, and many more.
