You know Christmas is near when Scottsdale’s Los Sombreros rolls out its highly anticipated holiday tamales. Since 1994, owner Azucena Tovar has been whipping up these handmade treasures from scratch. The tamales are available through Dec. 23 and may be ordered 48 hours in advance. One tamale of each flavor is about $30; 12 tamales of one flavor is about $28; and the nine-item Noche Buena Dessert Sampler (three each of the different sweet tamales) is about $23.
