"Fabulosity" with Corbin Chamberlin- The latest on Scottsdale and Phoenix arts, culture and fashion from the most glamorous guy we know.
This week I had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Beverly Kidd, newscaster for AZ Family on Channel 3, on the topic she and I both love- fashion. Kidd is quite contrary to stereotypical newscasters- no ill-fitting black suits or tragic outfits to be found. Beverly Kidd is a rare exception to the mundane ensembles that inevitably appear on my TV.
With striking colors and perfectly-tailored clothes that compliment her body, Kidd definitely has an eye. While on a trip to New York to visit Dr.Oz, Kidd wore her tantalizing red boots from Betsy Johnson and matching red dress, while surrounded by a herd of fellow journalist and newspeople in the typical gray, navy and black situations. This pretty much sums up the character of Kidd: delightful, passionate and colorful.
She also shared with me how she saw a certain celebrity in the Oz studio, and ran after her, starstruck, "like a intern" Read on to see where she enjoys shopping locally and walks us through her most recent splurge.

When it comes to clothing, what do you look for? Comfort, fit, look?
When it comes to clothing, I look for striking, meaning color, usually monochromatic, stark, black, red, white but usually one color. I don't wear prints much. Then comfort, materials that give a little. I'm curvy so if I buy things that fit my waist, they don't fit my bust or behind. So its tough to find clothes that fit correctly.
Where do you love to shop?
I love to shop at Fashion Square because they have just about everything.
Favorite designers?
Fav designers are Prada because its always classic, clean, simple. I also like BCBG for fun, and Dolce & Gabbana. I love Hudson jeans. Love Via Spiga shoes, as well as Vans and Converse.
Biggest fashion splurge?
Biggest fashion splurge recently was a Dolce & Gabbana purse- not on sale! It's leopard print.
I despise Ed Hardy, what fashion faux pas or trend do you never want to see again?
That's so funny about the Ed Hardy stuff because I don't like it either, but a few months ago I found some Ed Hardy shoes for next to nothing and they weren't so tacky-looking so I bought them. Ugh! Never worn them and they went to Good Will!!! Must-have fall accessory are black boots and opaque stockings.

What is your favorite place to have dinner?
My favorite place to have dinner is Lon's in Paradise Valley.
How was your trip to NYC?
New York was wonderful! Love the energy there. I walked around Times Square for hours people watching. I met Dr. Oz and ran into Ashlee Simpson when she was appearing on Jimmy Fallon's show. I saw her in the ladies room and was bold enough to ask her to pose for a pic with me! She was very nice and talked about her new baby. She is frightfully thin! I should have asked what her diet plan was.
How and where do you relax?
My fave place in the world to relax is The Enchantment Resort in Sedona. It is heaven on earth. I go there at least four times a year. The spa is rated one of the best in the world and its right in our own backyard!
What is your must have beauty product?
My must have beauty product is Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I've been using it since I was 16 and I can't find anything better for hydrating my skin. I've tried everything in every price range and it is the best for my skin. My second must-have product is Palmer's pure cocoa butter. I slather it on around my eyes and lips every night over the lotion. And it smells like chocolate!!
Your hair is stunning, who does it?
Thanks for the compliment about my hair. A lot of people think I color it but the truth is I don't color or highlight it. Luckily I don't have gray yet, so its natural. It gets lighter when I hike a lot this time of year. I used to have extensions but I took them out because the station didn't like my hair so big! I agreed. Sandy from Cosmos salon in Mesa cuts my hair.
Until next time, Keep it chic.
