School is closed, and now it’s time for some summer fun. Get your theater drink cups, bags of buttery popcorn, and boxes of M&Ms ready for this summer’s movie lineup. Whether you’re looking for a romantic comedy, action, or animation film, there’s a little something for everyone. Here is AFM’s round-up of summer movies you don’t want to miss.

“22 Jump Street” (Rated R) June 13
After making it thorough high school twice, Officers Schmidt and Jenko couldn’t be closer. The horrible cop antics lands them back at Jump Street, but this time they have to conquer college. Jenko (Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (Jonah Hill) start to drift apart and begin to question their partnership. With a case to crack and spring break around the corner, these two overgrown adolescents will hopefully grow into real men and college may be the best thing that’s ever happened to them.
“How to Train Your Dragon 2” (PG) June 13
The first installment of “How to Train Your Dragon” left audiences and critics absolutely in love with the film. The heroic Viking Hiccup and his dragon Toothless is back in action on their quest to save the future of men and dragons from the evil Drago. Watch as this Viking teenager and his dragon set out on another adventure and learns how to see the world from a different point of view.
“Think Like A Man Too” (PG-13) June 20
Reuniting for a Las Vegas wedding, the couples from “Think Like a Man” are looking forward to a fun, relaxing, and romantic weekend away. When plans start to go awry, various misadventures occur that threaten to derail the big event. Laugh along with some of your favorite actors, Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Adam Brody, and Jenifer Lewis.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” (PG-13) June 27
After an epic battle that left a great city in ruins, humanity slowly starts to rebuild itself. A shadowy group comes forth wanting to control the direction of history while an ancient yet powerful menace set Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, the Autobots join together to defeat a common enemy once more.

“Earth To Echo” (PG) July 2
As their neighborhood is destroyed by a highway construction project Tuck, Munch and Alex are being forced to move away. Two days before their families part ways, the boys start receiving strange signals on their cellphones. Teaming up with another school friend, the children set out to find where the signals are coming from. They discover a small alien who has been stranded on Earth. As they try to return the alien home, they embark on a wild and wondrous adventure.
“Dawn of The Planet of the Apes” (NR) July 11
The ultra-intelligent chimpanzee Caesar presides over the fall of human civilization after a devastating virus killed most of mankind a decade earlier. A growing nation of evolved apes led by Caesar, is threatened by a band of human survivors, but manages to reach a fragile peace. However, this is short-lived and both sides are brought to the brink of war to determine who will become Earth’s dominant species. Continuing the story of how ultra-intelligent simian Caesar presides over the fall of human civilization.
“Hercules” (NR) July 25
Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules becomes a mercenary. He travels to ancient Greece with five faithful companions selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. When the ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek out Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, he must transform again into the hero he once was; he must become Hercules.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” (NR) August 1
Based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, Guardians of the Galaxy features an all-star cast with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and Djimon Hounsou. Pilot Peter Quill forms an uneasy alliance with a group of extraterrestrial misfits who are on the run after stealing a coveted orb.
“Let’s Be Cops” (Rated R) August 13
When two pals dress as cops for a costume party, the neighborhood actually believes they’re legitimate. Running with the joke, the find a make-shift cop car and even respond to petty disturbances. But when these newly-minted “heroes” get too tangled up in real life mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.
“The Expendables 3” (Rated R) August 15
Join your favorite bad boys, Stallone, Statham, and Schwarzenegger is the next installment of “The Expendables In Barney’s quest to take Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) down once and for all and protect the President of the United States, he brings in new blood—younger, faster, tech savvy team. The mission becomes a clash of old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.
