If you can’t check-in without your pooch, check out these Valley pet-friendly resorts.
Hotel Valley Ho
At the Hotel Valley Ho pets are welcomed with a food and water bowl and doggie treats, while owners are responsible for the “Pet In Room” door hanger and cleanup bags. The hotel includes open grass areas for pets to take a leisurely stroll, although they must be on a leash and are not allowed in the pool, spa, food or beverage areas unless they are guide dogs. Pets are not to be left alone, but with 24 hours’ notice a pet sitter can be provided by the hotel. www.hotelvalleyho.com.
FireSky Resort & Spa
Scottsdale’s FireSky Resort & Spa welcomes all pets free of charge and greets them with a Welcome Board listing arriving pets’ names for the day. Dog walking/sitting services are available, and there is an exercise area within walking distance. The resort also distributes complimentary Pooper Scooper bags, walking maps, food and water bowls, and Doggie Beds during your stay. For those without pets, complimentary goldfish are available upon request. www.fireskyresort.com.
Montelucia Resort & Spa
The Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley welcomes pets for a $100 fee per stay. The fee insures your pet will be pampered with dog dishes, a place mat, a pet bed and treats for the entire stay. If you are visiting on the last Thursday of the month, you and your pooch can enjoy “Yappy Hour” from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Owners receive $5 glasses of wine and cheese tastings while dogs socialize over water and treats. www.montelucia.com.
Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak and Tapatio Cliffs
Both the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak and Hilton Tapatio Cliffs allow pets under 75 pounds to stay for a non-refundable fee of $75. The resorts have a limited number of beds and bowls available so make sure you let staff know you are reserving a room for you and your pooch ahead of time. www1.hilton.com.
Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa
Pets under 80 pounds can remain part of the family at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa, free of charge.
