With Halloween right around the corner, why not allow yourself to be spooked?
The number of ghost sighting programs that have taken over TV, shows our fascination with paranormal activity. Arizona is home to one of the most haunted hotels, which has been featured on two Travel Channel shows. Halloween fanatics get ready for a visit to Jerome, Arizona.
From what was a booming mining town, once nicknamed the “Billion Dollar Copper Camp” is now referred to as “Ghost City.” Jerome, Arizona has become a hotspot for ghost hunters and tourists alike. The United Verde Hospital which closed its doors in 1950 is said to have had many deaths during its time. The historic hospital stood vacant for 44 years until the Altherr family purchased it in 1994. The family then renovated it and opened the Jerome Grand Hotel in 1997. The rumored ghostly presences and unexplained activities have attracted many to this haunted destination.
This is what lured Zak Bagan here for a second time. Zak Bagan of Ghost Adventures on The Travel Channel brought his new show Paranormal Challenge back to Jerome “Ghost City”, Arizona. Paranormal Challenge allows two amateur ghost hunter teams to go head to head in an overnight lockdown. The teams collect evidence of paranormal activity using professional equipment and both teams present their findings to Bagan and his panel of experts. Ultimately, Bagan and his panel decide the winner of the challenge. Bagan set two amateur teams up overnight in the frightening Jerome Grand Hotel overlooking the town of Jerome. The recent episode aired on September 16th.
