Invitation
What child doesn’t get excited when a box arrives in the mail? Our ghoulish invitation arrived with a severed finger setting the tone for the night of fright. We painted the nail of the freaky ceramic finger with black Chanel nail polish, added some orange crinkle and a card that read, “Tricks, treats, games and prizes for parents and children of all sizes! Costumes a must, all you witches and ghosts, for an eerie evening with Cooper, Jake and Emme, your hosts!”

PARTY PROS:

Décor
Beds were a fun alternative to the traditional party seating and the perfect venue for movie watching. The beds were set up on the back lawn adorned with orange-and-green comforters and pillows to coordinate with the Halloween-inspired theme. A movie screen and projector, which was easily displayed poolside, played a frightening flick. The seasonal look was capped off with
pumpkins sprinkled throughout the backyard.

Activities
The party started at the bewitching hour when all ghosts and goblins, witches and werewolves met to compare tricks and treats. They bobbed for apples in the dark of night and shrieked as a real cow tongue floated to the surface. Then on to the campfire where ghost stories were told and s’mores devoured. Lastly, the guests retreated to their beds for a scary movie to end the night. Remember, when planning any event, the greatest memories come from completely new experiences, so treat your guests to something they have never seen before (the cow tongue) and never done before (movies in bed).

Food & Drink
This is one time when eating in bed was a prerequisite and mom-approved. Pizza was served to all the witches and ghosts. It was kid-friendly, easy and orange (the color of the holiday). S’mores made the perfect dessert and doubled as a fun activity for the guests and hosts.
