While the kids are back to school, it’s time for the parents to have a blast on Lake Pleasant in a houseboat, taking a break from the store-to-store scurry, searching for new backpacks and first-day outfits.

Invitation
A navy card with red-and-white stripes was the backdrop chosen for the authentic rope- and ring-detailed invite, perfectly highlighting the nautical theme. It read: “Get a sitter ‘til 12 o’clock, leave your worries at the dock. Throw a swimsuit into a tote and join the splash on our party boat! Once on board, no time will be wasted, ‘til all the Corrido Tequila has been tasted. Aye Aye is all you have to say to an evening of fun at Scorpion Bay.” The words are just as important as the aesthetics.

Favor
A great favor carries the theme all the way to the end of the night—or to the end of the school year. Doughnut holes were accessorized with a coordinating tag that read, “Thanks a ‘hole’ lot for sailing with us!” In creating these favors, we imagined parents throughout the year racing through the Krispy Kreme drive-thru buying doughnuts for the PTA meeting, chuckling and remembering the fun. The favor truly rocked the house—or, in this case, houseboat.

Food & Drink
The food was elegantly presented by Chef Daniel LaGarde in clear and stylish disposable cups, perfect for dining deck-top. The tapas-style cuisine was accompanied by a signature martini, served in nautical navy glassware.

Décor
The boat’s beautiful interior was the true show-stopper, so the décor was kept simple. Angelic Grove provided tight white roses to complement the boat’s beauty and add to the nautical theme.
