Start your engines - it’s that time again for the biggest car event in the world to take over Las Vegas. This year, auto lovers everywhere can celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, the "World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions" on the Vegas Strip, September 22-24.
For 40 years, Barrett-Jackson has stirred up quite the excitement with auctions that feature one-of-a-kind automotives. Known for the large collection of exclusive automobiles, the company has been steadily boosting its presence from right here in Scottsdale.
Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson joined forces in 1971 to present their first car auction in Scottsdale. Today, Barrett-Jackson operates in three additional cities, including Las Vegas, Orange County, and Palm Beach.
In 2008, Barrett-Jackson added a Las Vegas event at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. The inaugural Las Vegas attracted an eclectic crop of 533 collector vehicles, over 50,000 attendants and nearly $30 million in total sales over three days. Over 16 hours of live coverage was broadcast on SPEED TV. The event has grown each year ever since and offers something for everyone.
Featured cars at the Las Vegas 2011 auction will include a 2008 Bugatti Veyron, a 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Convertible and more.
In addition to car auctions, attendees will experience live music, vendor and sponsor displays, fine liquor and wine tasting and more. Tickets start at $10 and prices vary depending the day. All-week passes are available for $160.
If you can’t make it out to Sin City to enjoy this car spectacle, don’t worry—it’ll be a channel away. The SPEED network will present 16 hours of live coverage from the auction.
