As fall colors flood stores in the Valley, there’s no better time than now to enjoy this new month with family and friends. Venture out and explore specially selected events this weekend, Sept. 6 to Sept. 8.

First Friday at the Phoenix Art Museum

Indulge in the local art scene this weekend at the Phoenix Art Museum from 6 to 10 p.m. Consistently occurring on the first Friday of every month, the museum hosts an eclectic evening fit for all ages. Live music, in gallery sketching, and sound art are just a few of the specially curated activities that will be on display for enjoyment and interaction. $5 admission fee.

Rapunzel at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater

Sit back and relax with family and friends as a world of fantasy unfolds right before your eyes. For a limited time, the Great Arizona Puppet Theater presents its very own rendition of the renowned fairytale Rapunzel. You can join in on the magic from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Sept. 6 Tickets range from $8 to $12 (price dependent on age). Learn more here.

The Chandler Symphony Orchestra

Memories of your favorite motion pictures are brought to life through the sounds of The Chandler Symphony Orchestra. Tunes from “Titanic,” to “Harry Potter” will play on from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m on Friday, Sept. 6. No tickets necessary, admission is granted by donation which benefits the City of Chandler.

Arizona Coyotes Fan Fest

Hockey season is upon us and you can celebrate its arrival this Saturday at the Gila River Arena. Attendees are able to meet and greet certain players, and of course Howler the mascot. Coyote-loving kiddos can participate in face painting, games, prizes, and more. This free event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Scottsdale Quarter 8th Annual Fall Concert Series

Shop, snack, and sing along to your favorite songs at the Scottsdale Quarter this weekend. The cover band Shallow Water is back on Saturday with some beloved old-time tunes, as well as current hits. Dance on down to the quad from 5 to 7 p.m.; you won’t want to miss this free function.

Arizona’s Got Talent

Talented children ranging from ages 8 to 17 are invited to show off their skills this Saturday at Desert Ridge Marketplace. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., performers will compete for fun, as well as for a potential cash prize and chance to audition for America’s Got Talent. “Chicago High School Edition” at Desert Stages Theatre

Free Family Sunday Phoenix Art Museum

Get in touch with your creative side at the Phoenix Art Museum. Based on September’s theme, Numbers, guests of all ages can participate in the hands on learning experience. This Sunday fun-day comes complete with scavenger hunts and story time for your little ones. The excitement begins at noon and goes on until 5 p.m.

Drone Racing at Chase Field

Zoom into the fun Sept. 8 from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. as Chase Field hosts the largest local drone race. This futuristic event costs $15 and features an up-close-and-personal experience with drones racing at over 80 MPH.
