Polos and horses galore must mean one thing: The Scottsdale Polo Championship: Horses + Horsepower has arrived. This year, the event will help support the nonprofit Neighborhood Outreach Access to Health (NOAH) centers, an affiliate of Scottsdale Healthcare.

NOAH

The Scottsdale Polo Championship prides itself with the title: the best party in Arizona. The event showcases the biggest names in polo and the best cars in America, attracting locals and tourists alike. The event will be held on Oct. 20 at Westworld of Scottsdale.

Each ticket sold will benefit NOAH and the nonprofit Scottsdale Healthcare Foundation, as well as Work to Ride, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit providing horsemanship and education activities for disadvantaged urban youth.

NOAH provides affordable medical, dental and behavioral health services in low-income communities of the Northeast Valley. NOAH was founded in 1996 with support from Scottsdale Healthcare. What started with a single nurse practitioner traveling between schools in various school districts has grown into several on-site heath centers in Phoenix and Scottsdale, as well as a mobile clinic that was implemented in 2001. The program has provided health services to more than 30,000 individuals.

Along with NOAH, The Scottsdale Polo Championship will also benefit Work to Ride. Work to Ride provides the youth of today with a positive alternative to negative activities, and is the first African-American polo team in the nation. Acclaimed for its accomplishments including two national interscholastic championships, the program has been profiled on “The Today Show,” CNN and “60 Minutes.” Work to Ride team members will visit the NOAH Palomino health center the day before their match versus Harvard University at the polo championships.

For a day full of horseplay (literally!), check out The Scottsdale Polo Championship. You will not only experience polo athletes and ponies at their best, but you will also be contributing to great causes like NOAH and Work to Ride.
