Master of Horror: The Films of John Carpenter
Looking to catch some Halloween horror flicks on the big screen? Head to the Loft to see the films of John Carpenter, the director of the Halloween series, every Wednesday night in October at 7:00. Tickets cost $9.25; $7.50 students, teachers, and military; $6.25 seniors and children 12 and under; and $5.75 for members.

Fall Pumpkin Celebration at Apple Annie’s
Explore the beautiful Apple Annie’s Produce and Pumpkins in Willcox and pick your own pumpkins from the patch. Delight in hot, crisp, apple cider donuts and spend the day with your sweetheart (or a group of friends) collecting fall produce, right off the vine or branch. The Fall Pumpkin Celebration is happening every weekend through October 26 from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Get there early for an “All-You-Can-Eat” pancake breakfast from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Check out Apple Annie’s Orchard and pick a few apples while you’re out there as well.

Nightfall at Old Tucson
Experience Old Tucson in the form of a terrifying town, clad with live performances and characters dressed in sinister costumes. This event is known for its sense of terror realism and authenticity. Prepare yourself. Nightfall costs $15 per person and runs every Thursday-Saturday until the end of October.

Terror in the Corn
Older kids and adults: take it up a notch at Buckelew with Terror in the Corn every Friday and Saturday night in October. Take your typical Halloween haunted house experience and bring it to the creepy depths of a corn maze at night with dangers and doom at every corner waiting to prey on you. Can you handle it? Terror in the Corn is $20 per person.

25th Annual Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze
This is a great October season event for your little ones with tractor rides to the pumpkin patch where you can pick out your favorite pumpkins. Whether you and your family decide to make jack-o-lanterns or pumpkin pie, this is a family-friendly not to miss. The Pumpkin Festival runs on Saturdays and Sundays from October 4-27. Admission is $4 per person. Kids still in diapers get in for free.

Scooby Doo and the Haunted Ruins
Someone has stolen a valuable treasure from Valley of the Moon. Bring your family along and catch a live show where Scooby and the rest of the crew work to solve this mystery. Shows run every half hour from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on October 11-13, 18-20, and 25-30. Ages six and under are free, ages 7-16 are $5 and 16 and up is $8.

Extreme Pumpkin Carving
This event takes pumpkin carving to a whole new level. Hang out at Catalina Foothills shopping mall on Friday and Saturday, October 25-26 and marvel at these extravagant and extreme pumpkins. More information to come!

Howl-O-Ween!
Bring your kids to Reid Park Zoo for a night of trick-or-treating at the zoo Friday-Sunday, October 25-27. While spooky sights wait at every corner this is an event tailored to all ages, with tons of fun, frightful decorations and costumed characters. Entrance is $7; $5 for Zoo members.

Feast with the Dearly Departe
Celebrate the traditions of Dia de los Muertos a little early this year at Tucson Botanical Gardens with mariachi music, sugar skulls, and eccentric decorations. On October 26 from 5-8 p.m., enjoy Sonoran food and drinks and honor this centuries old celebratory ceremony, which honors the dead. Amidst it all, guests can simply revel in the beauty of the botanical gardens’ atmosphere. Admission costs $8; $4 children ages four-12. TGB members get in for $4; $2 ages four-12.

Werewolf Bar Mitzvah! Halloween Blow Out
“Boys becoming men…men becoming wolves!” Join in on this 30 Rock inspired party—one of the most exciting and insane in Tucson—Hotel Congress. This event is happening on Halloween night starting at 9 p.m. and features indoor and outdoor music and two costume contests. Get ready to get down right wicked. Pricing has yet to be determined, so be sure to check the Hotel Congress website frequently for more information.
