Tony Abou-Ganim Cocktail Event

 
 
 

The infamous Tony Abou-Ganim, who many may know as the star “Modern Mixologist” from the Tucson Culinary Festival or from his appearances on Iron Chef America, is hosting his first professional event November 16-18. The Tony Abou-Ganim Southwest Spirit Summit is sponsored by Casino Del Sol Resort.

Abou-Ganim was hired in 2010 as a consultant at Casino del Sol to design a world-class beverage program, which he previously created for the Bellagio in Las Vegas. His ties to the Southwest and to Casino del Sol helped him to decide to host the event in Tucson. The three-day event attempts to bring together leading talents, brand representatives, and world-class chefs to discuss and practice mixology and cuisine.

The public is invited to attend the event, featuring seminars, competitions, tasting events, cocktail dinners, and more .The Helen David Memorial Fund For Breast Cancer, Speed Rack, and the Museum of the American Cocktail are the beneficiaries of the event.

Some of the most well known spirit experts, including Steven Olson, Dale DeGroff, Ron Cooper, Charlotte Voisey, and more, will join Tony for the event. The Speed Rack Competition will also be featured, kicking off their national tour.

On Friday, November 16, a Happy Hour featuring specialty cocktails will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. An opening BBQ bash, hosted by Jim Beam, and a cocktail dinner will also take place.

Saturday, November 17, featured four different seminars, a tasting floor from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., an Iron Chef Challenge, a cocktail dinner, a tequila dinner, and a nightcap in the Prema Lounge.

Sunday, November 18, features four more seminars, a tasting floor from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Speedrack National Competition, a cocktail dinner and the 2nd Annual Southern AZ Classic featuring Arizona’s best mixologists battling it out. Seminars include a ladies only Hands-on with Tony Abou-Ganim and an American Tiki Seminar.

All-access passes can be purchased for $125 per person. Tickets to individual events may also be purchased. Plan ahead to attend the biggest spirit event in Southern Arizona with some of the top mixologists and beverage experts.
