UApresents is the University of Arizona’s professional performing arts presenter. UApresents prides itself on bringing the world’s finest theatre, dance, and world music to the Tucson community. Here is a look at some of what UApresents has in store for Tucson this semester.
Jerry Seinfeld Live
America’s favorite comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, will perform his signature stand-up routine at UA Centennial Hall. Seinfeld’s jokes relate to audiences of all ages, everywhere. The performance will be held on September 21 at 7 p.m.
The Daily Show Live
A hilarious multimedia event featuring Rob Riggie, Al Madrigal, and Executive Producer and Writer Rory Albanese from “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” is bringing the popular Comedy Central show to life. The show will feature stand-up comedy, lecture, and Q&A with the audience, just in time for the elections! The show will be presented on October 19 at 8 p.m.
Shaolin Warriors
The Shaolin Warriors bring the incredible skill, stunning movement, and amazing imagery of Kung Fu to the stage through a fully choreographed theatrical production. These Kung Fu masters trained from a young age and have mental and physical discipline only otherwise seen in movies. They will be at UA Centennial Hall on October 21 at 3 p.m.
Lang Lang
The “hottest artist on the classical music planet” according to The New York Times, Lang Lang, is a Chinese pianist who specializes in beautiful classical music. Lang Lang’s performances are unlike others, and are thrilling and exciting to watch. He will be gracing the stage at UA Centennial Hall on October 28 at 7 p.m.
Straight No Chaser
Straight No Chaser (SNC) is a nonconventional male a cappella group that is neither strait-laced nor straight-faced. The loveable jokesters, who have more than 20 million views on YouTube, will come to Centennial Hall on November 23 at 7:30 p.m.
The Nutcracker
December 21-23, The Nutcracker will be performed at Centennial Hall, just in time for Christmas. Ballet Tucson’s production attracts fans of all ages, as they experience Clara’s magical journey. This performance is a special event, and not part of the regular UApresents 2012-2013 season.
