Pima Air & Space Museum
Being one of the largest aviation museums in the world, you won't want to miss cruising by here. With a collection of over 300 air and spacecrafts from around the world, including some rare and one-of-a-kind items, it is truly a sight to see on the 80-acre plot. Some of the collection includes President John F. Kennedy's Air Force One, SR-71 Blackbird, and a rare World War II German V-1 “buzz-bomb”. Reid Park Zoo
Lions, and tigers, and bears, oh, my! No, this isn't a Wizard of Oz movie montage, but some of the animals at the Reid Park Zoo, located in the center of Tucson. Its 17-acre campus includes giraffes, polar bears, rhinos, zebras, elephants, as well as curious animals such as the mandrill, macaw, lar gibbon, and the newest additions, saurus cranes. Biosphere 2
Recently named one of the 50 must see “Wonders of the World” by Time Life Books is the Biosphere 2, located at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Inside you will find a thriving tropical rainforest, fog desert, mangrove wetlands, a Savannah grassland, and an ocean complete with coral reef. Tucson Botanical Gardens
Discover nature's precious treasures at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. On the property you will find numerous gardens. Herb, wildflower, iris, aloe, and cactus are just a few gardens here. Now open is Butterfly Magic, where hundreds of rare and exotic tropical butterflies from Asia, Australia, Africa and Central America glide freely throughout the exhibit. Sabino Canyon
Go on an adventure at Sabino Canyon, located in the Coronado National Forest in Tucson. The Sabino Canyon Trail tour will take you on a 45-minute tour which covers 3.8 miles of land and includes nine stops along the way. Go ahead and hike a number of trails including Blackett's Ridge Trail and Telephone Line Trail. Tickets for the Sabino Canyon Trail are $8 for adults, $4 for children. For a more integrated hike, take the Bear Canyon Trail tram, a two-mile tour that travels to the trail head of Seven Fall, with three stops along the way. Feel free to get off at any stop, where you can hike different trails. Just be prepared to wait at least an hour for the next tram!
