Band Together for a two-day music festival this weekend to celebrate The Noodles 20th Anniversary of rocking the Valley and to support local teen Katie Solliday of Gilbert, who is recovering from a debilitating brain aneurysm.\u00a0Band Together will feature some of the Valley\u2019s hottest bands starting at 2 p.m. on both Saturday, May 20\u00a0and Sunday, May 21 at Cactus Jacks<\/a> located at 4747 E Elliot Rd in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

The music fest is just $10 per day and proceeds will benefit Katie Solliday. Captain of her school color guard team, the bright Campo Verde High School senior had a 4.0 GPA and had just been accepted into Arizona State University’s Barrett Honors College to participate in its biomedical engineering program when she was airlifted to an area hospital for emergency surgery due to a brain hemorrhage.\u00a0After the surgery, Solliday spent 8 weeks in a coma battling for her life. Three months later the Gilbert teen is relearning how to do everything she once knew. She has already conquered lifting her hands smiling, eating, talking softly, but Solliday still has a long way to go. She has limited use of her arms and legs and requires constant care.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you have been lucky enough to have a community appreciate what you are doing and keep coming back every week, you become a family with your fans,\u201d said John Reuter, founding member of The Noodles. \u201cWe really are just doing what any family member would do when tragedy strikes. In this case, to such a wonderful young lady with the brightest of futures in front of her. We just want to do what we can to help restore that future for Katie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gina Lombardi, owner of Cactus Jacks credits the community, Solliday\u2019s high school classmates and the music community who quickly joined efforts to help her family with the medical bills.<\/p>\n

“The fact that the Valley music community so eagerly jumped to come together to help support this benefit, is a true testament of the character of such great established native Phoenix artists such as Alice Cooper, Walt Richardson, Roger Clyne, The Sugar Thieves, Shawn Johnson and many more,\u201d said Lombardi.<\/p>\n

Those attending the two day music fest can also participating in a raffle and auction to win one of two weekend stays in Flagstaff cabin in the woods, a signed guitar from Roger Clyne and Alice Cooper, 4 passes to Disneyland, 4 tickets to an Arizona Diamondbacks game in the Baseline Reserve seating area, 2 passes for Arizona Zip line Adventures, Annual family membership to Phoenix Art Museum, Tickets to the Phoenix Zoo, Chiropractic Sessions Massages, Original art work by Tim Rogers and Original art work by Dan Long.<\/p>\n
