The 2025 Mazda CX-50 is part of the first generation CX-50 introduced in 2023. Besides a hybrid powertrain joining the lineup, it remains largely unchanged. With only a few years under its belt, and the CX-50 being a brand new model for Mazda, this doesn\u2019t come as a big surprise. It remains quick on its feet with the optional turbo engine with tight control and precise handling around corners. All very on brand for the company that brought us the MX-5, RX-7 and famous 787B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though it shares most of its name with the CX-5, the CX-50 upon closer inspection, is lower, wider and longer. It\u2019s also clad in lower-body plastic, giving it a much more rugged appearance. Though it is more off-road capable then many small crossover SUV\u2019s, its not to be confused with a Bronco or Land Rover. The interior is also where any semblance of ruggedness stops, as the cabin is much more refined and upscale looking than other competitors. Edited down, with high-end materials throughout, the design of Mazda’s interiors in general, the CX-50 being no exception, look and feel far more expensive than they actually are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There’s a staggering number of trim options with the 2025 Mazda CX-50. Ten to be more precise. At the very top of the pile is the Premium Plus trim, which will spoil all on-board with leather upholstery, a long panoramic sunroof, heated seats, a premium sound system and more. Of course you’ll also get the most powerful turbocharged engine and the hybrid powertrain. Though not as rugged and off-road ready as its competitors, the Mazda CX-50 continues to pamper and perform on-road better than most in it’s class. With tight body control, brisk acceleration and a level of refinement that would suggest that it should be priced even higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
