In the seemingly endless world of crossover SUV\u2019s, the Dodge Hornet GT is a standout amongst its peers. As soon as one steps up to the Hornet, the quality of everything is immediately noticeable. From the aggressive exterior body lines down to the sleek dashboard layout, it\u2019s apparent to even the most aloof driver that every feature was designed with the utmost scrutiny. Although there is ample room in the cockpit for those looking for a sporty feel, drivers that long for the leg and shoulder space of a truck or large SUV may want to look in another direction. That said, as a fairly big guy myself, I enjoyed the very stylish, compact feel of the Hornet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enough about the inside. When the rubber meets the road, this baby cooks. With a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine that produces 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, no one can say the Hornet is lacking in power. This compact SUV also comes standard with AWD and a nine-speed automatic transmission. All this culminates in an extremely zippy 0-60 acceleration of 6.5 seconds, which is well above your average crossover vehicle. Even with the speed of the Hornet, one can still expect a very respectable 21 city mpg\/29 hwy mpg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The quickness and agility might make some question whether safety takes a backseat in the Hornet, but with advanced driver-assistance features, including Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA), Active Driving Assist system, Surround-View Camera system, and Drowsy Driver Detection, those fears are easily put to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All this to say, the Hornet GT should be on the shortlist of anyone looking for a vehicle in the ever-growing crossover SUV class. With its combination of style, performance, and practicality, the Hornet is an obvious choice for today\u2019s driver.
