When the Lexus NX first hit the scene back in 2014, it represented a sort of luxurious, urban, subcompact SUV. Based on the popular RAV4 frame, with more polish and refinement. Naturally, it was well received. Fast forward six years to 2022, and we see the Lexus NX getting a full-body, inside and out makeover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The redesigned NX boasts a starting price just under $40,000. An attractive number, but likely too spartan for most shoppers looking for luxury. The mid-range NX350 comes equipped with a new 275-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Offering way more performance over the 203-hp naturally aspirated four. Even with the turbocharged engine, the Lexus NX 350 falls short when compared to its European luxury rivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the inside especially, the Luxury package will help you achieve the premium look and feel you\u2019re after. With a larger 14.0-inch infotainment display, improved ambient interior lighting, unique chevron seat quilting on the leather upholstery, black, open poor wood trim, and adjustable lumbar support for the driver. With these additions, you\u2019ll find the interior has that quality finish Lexus is known for. A little more sound insulation could\u2019ve been used in the cabin, as road noise becomes pretty intrusive at highway speeds. The combination of the more powerful engine and Luxury package is without question what I would recommend. Obviously driving up the price, but if you\u2019re after a bargain, you\u2019re probably looking at Toyota\u2019s line-up, and not Lexus.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As was the case before, if you prefer something with a little more menace and visual edge, the NX350 F Sport is priced about the same, and also available with the Luxury package. Even in its more muted, non-F Sport form, the redesigned Lexus NX 350 has never looked better. With a lifted rear and redesigned taillights, plus a more aggressively styled front facia and headlights. The new NX looks futuristic and fresh. If you really want to pump up the raw curb appeal, the Nori Green paint is a real show stopper. Especially with those big 20-spoke alloy wheels in a silver finish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In summary, the Lexus NX line was good in the beginning. Taking an already popular platform and adding lots of extra extravagance and flair. With the 2022 model, even more luxury and refinement can be found. Along with a wide range of powertrain options to choose from. Offering more space, safety features and all-around practicality than many of its German rivals. With a little more performance under the hood, and a quieter interior, Lexus could really have a well-rounded winner on its hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
