This is particularly true with car manufacturers. Kia made an attempt to break out of its \u201cvalue-driven, mass market vehicle\u201d mold with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arizonafoothillsmagazine.com\/autos\/test-drive-2015-kia-k900\/\">K900<\/a>, but discovered that there were only about 455 people willing to shell out $50,000-plus for a luxury sedan that didn\u2019t have the name \u201cBMW,\u201d \u201cMercedes-Benz,\u201d or the like affixed to the trunk lid. Undeterred, Kia set its sites on creating a vehicle that would add some sizzle to its lineup, a sportback that would challenge the aforementioned European brands. Enter the 2018 Kia Stinger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Stinger,\nKia designers and engineers spent the better part of five years developing the\nultimate <em>gran turismo<\/em>. The goal was\nto be bold, to create something fast and nimble, yet luxurious and comfortable\nfor five passengers, plus luggage. After spending a week behind the wheel, I\ncan confidently attest that the Stinger will shatter your preconceived notions\nof what a Kia can be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is available in\nfive trim levels, with GT models sporting a 365-horsepower V-6 engine. I drove\nthe base trim level, equipped with a standard 255-horsepower four-cylinder\nengine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Even with the smaller\nengine, Stinger is a blast to drive. Slung low to the ground, with an athletic crouch, Stinger looks\nsleek and powerful. Inside, you\u2019ll be comfortably ensconced in a cabin loaded\nwith standard equipment is often \u201cextra\u201d in traditional luxury vehicles: real\nleather seating surfaces and trim, power adjustable seats, multi-color LED\nambient lighting, to name a few. The controls are intuitive and set in an\nattractive, finely crafted and appointed dash, and integration for both Android\nAuto and Apple CarPlay is also standard.
