Barrett-Jackson<\/a> is in full swing, with the first vehicles having crossed the auction block. There\u2019s still plenty of time to check out their auto and lifestyle event at Westworld, as well as some of the other auctions that open up this week. Shelby is the magic word this auction season, but plenty of other exceptional vehicles will be up for bid. Here\u2019s where you can find them:<\/p>\n

Gooding also holds the record for the most expensive car sold at auction, having sold a 1957 Ferrari Testa Rossa for $16.4 million at its 2011 Pebble Beach auction. Guests may preview the cars Wednesday through Friday, January 16 to18, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, January 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. An auction catalogue for $80 admits two to the viewing and auction. General admission can be purchased at the tent for $30 per person. Timeless collector classics here include a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider<\/strong> (est. $5.5 million to $7 million), highly-original 1959 Porsche RSK<\/strong> (est. $2.8 million to $3.2 million), one-off 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Speciale<\/strong> by Pinin Farina (est. $1.7 million to $2.1 million) and Edsel Ford\u2019s personal 1930 Ford Model A Sport Phaeton<\/strong> (est. $325,000 to $400,000).<\/p>\n

Very exclusive, the auction itself is only open to registered bidders and consigners, but $80 will admit two people to the preview event on Thursday. They accept only the most exceptional vehicles, evidenced by the sale 2009 sale of a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa for $12,402,500, which set a world record for the most expensive motor car sold at auction at the time. Among the 80 blue-chip collector cars you\u2019ll see this year are an exquisite 1938 Delahaye 135 MS Coupe<\/strong> (pictured above) displayed at the Figoni et Falaschi stand at the 1938 Paris Salon and fitted with a desirable MS racing engine, expected to sell for an in the $1 million to $1.4 million range; and a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SC Cabriolet<\/strong>, one of 49 examples produced and featuring coachwork by Sindelfingen (est. $800,000\u2013$1,000,000).<\/p>\n

\nHighlights:<\/b> Founded in 1793, Bonhams is one of the world’s largest auctioneers of fine art and antiques. In this, its second Scottsdale auction, a 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Faux Cabriolet<\/strong>, a 1941 Lincoln Continental Coupe<\/strong> from the movie\u00a0The Godfather<\/i>, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing<\/strong> and a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV<\/strong>, among others, will cross the block. The $75 catalog price admits two people to the auction, which starts at 10:30 a.m. with automobilia, with the vehicle auction starting at 1:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
