When we think of luxury electric cars we may imagine a Tesla, a Fisker, or possibly one of the latest exciting BMW electric concepts to hit the auto show circuit.
\nPeugeot, however, has not received anywhere near the level of attention that any of the aforementioned outfits receive continually. But with its breakout performance at Nurburgring, all of that is likely to change.<\/p>\n

The Peugeot EX1 all electric high performance sport vehicle raced around the 12-mile loop at Nurburgring with an impressive time of 9 minutes and 1.338 seconds, averaging 85.9 miles per hour.
\nAt first glance the EX1 may not appear to be a regular full sized car, but with a carbon-fiber body tapering to an extremely narrow track with fitted two rear wheels, the Peugeot EX1 fully qualifies for any road world wide, and gives up as much material and space as possible so as to squeeze every last ounce of power and speed from the electric drive train.<\/p>\n

Peugeot also got rid of the top, tossing it aside in favor of an open air driving experience. This allows the driver to enjoy the comfort of an automobile, along with all of the freedom and torque of a motorcycle.<\/p>\n

The EX1 makes use of two electric motors — one at each axle — that produce a combined 345 horsepower. The EX1 is said to apply more than 1G of force upon its occupants during acceleration time. The minimalist body and cutting edge all electric engine allow the EX1 to draw an immense amount of torque at the drop of a hat, even breaking world acceleration records in recent months.<\/p>\n

So when will the Peugeot EX1 be landing upon the sweltering shores of the Phoenix Valley area? Well, not likely anytime soon, and perhaps never.
