The flakes can act like air brakes, or help in turns by puffing up an opposite side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen traveling at speed, the car will contract to its closed position to help control airflow, and when under braking or turning, the flakes will spring open to dynamically adjust downforce,\u201d Feng said. \u201cThe open flakes will also allow the car to lean into the corner for better handling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cwheels\u201d also take their inspiration from nature as they are not actually wheels at all, but rather 12 leg like structures arranged in a circle. As they turn on a wheel hub, the \u201clegs\u201d extend and contract in response to the road surface and vehicle speed.<\/p>\n<p>Much like his previous outlandish designs, Da Feng recognizes that this concept is not about to make its way into mass production at any point in the near future, but rather was intended to spark ideas and conversation concerning the possibilities in the future of the industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know there\u2019s a lot of optimism in the idea,\u201d he said. \u201cIt isn\u2019t meant to be a practical solution, rather, an inspiration for others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix Valley auto enthusiasts should plan on attending the Phoenix Arizona International Auto Show to learn about the most recent concepts and innovations in the auto industry, including edge pushing designs and concepts from around the world, taking place at the Phoenix Arizona Convention center over Thanksgiving weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wandering about the rugged Arizona wilderness which surrounds the Phoenix Valley area, I am sure that many of&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":1484,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1483","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-auto-news","cs-entry","cs-video-wrap"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
