A good life is one characterized by spontaneity, living in the moment, and seizing upon positive opportunities as they present themselves.\u00a0 We here at Vroom submit this weekends (June 24-26) 29th Annual Dana Point Concours d\u2019Elegance classic car show and auction in Orange County, California as one such unique and positive opportunity for Phoenix Valley area classic car enthusiasts.\u00a0 Earlier this week we posted a general overview of the event, now we will look at a few examples of some of the classic collector cars that will be present and up for sale.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo coincide with this year\u2019s Dana Point Concours d\u2019Elegance, we\u2019ll offer attendees the opportunity to own beautifully-restored or original European exotics and great American classics, as well as a handful of vintage motorcycles,\u201d said David Berg, managing partner for EG Auctions.\u00a0 \u201cThe variety of vehicles offered on our platform is second to none.\u00a0 We look forward to celebrating our shared automotive heritage alongside fellow enthusiasts over the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n

One European selection is a fully-restored 1932 Lanchester Type 15\/18 that comes with the original British plates.\u00a0 The light and dark blue two-toned coachwork, black top, and wire wheels create an air of signature and sophistication.\u00a0 The current owner purchased the car nearly 37 years ago and has since put more than $100,000 into restoring it to its glory days.\u00a0 The Lanchester is legendary for winning the first RAC Rally in England.<\/p>\n

American automotive manufacturer General Motors will also be represented on the auction block, with a 1965 Chevrolet Malibu SS 396 Chevelle Z16 with a 396 cid, V8 engine.\u00a0 The striking red on black Malibu has had only one owner for 40 years.\u00a0 A rare car, it is documented in the Z-16 registry and is one of 200 hard tops originally produced; only 62 Z-16s are accounted for of those 200.<\/p>\n

Of course, then we have Italy, a country whose cars, as well as many of their other exports, are characterized by unequaled blend of sharp future forward engineering and warm old world aesthetics.\u00a0 A 1974 red on white Pantera DeTomaso, a fine example of the ideal Italian design legacy, with a V8, 351 cid engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission, is set to be sold on Saturday afternoon.\u00a0 Even if you don’t plan on buying the vehicle, it is certainly worthy some pre-auction appreciation, just like any other work of fine art or engineering.<\/p>\n

\u201cEuropean manufacturers are responsible for many of the most beautifully designed and engineered vehicles of all time,\u201d added Berg.\u00a0 \u201cThey set the bar for automotive excellence and performance in the industry.\u00a0\u00a0 Collectors will not want to miss the opportunity to take home one of these vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n
