Fashion Week kicks off today in New York City. And sadly even though I had originally planned to be backstage makeup-ing some divinely pretty faces, duty in the Valley of the Sun called and here I am at my computer instead of rolling my makeup kits down the chilly streets of mid- town. I can\u2019t really complain though as I have more than enough shoots and work to keep me beyond busy here.<\/p>\n

So for the next several days I will be bringing you the latest reports about the who, what and wear off the runway. If I can\u2019t be there, at least I have my fashion informants who keep me in the know.<\/p>\n

Mercedes Benz fashion week runs from today through Feb 17th. Today\u2019s shows will include BCBG Max Azria, Richard Chai, Duckie Brown, Cristian Siriano, Luca Luca, Mara Hoffman and many more. <\/p>\n

To kick off the week last night The Heart Truths Red Dress Collection show garnered over 1,000 people amongst the star- studded, runway- walking crowd. The Heart\u2019s Truth is a campaign to raise awareness for women about heart disease and is sponsored by the National Heat, Lung and Blood Institute. <\/p>\n

The lineup included Today shows Ann Curry who was a tad concerned over her freshly manicure and sparkly nails saying that she never has her nails done and wonders how it will fare during her next trip to the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Suzanne Sommers mugged for the camera with Dita Von Teese looking as tanned and fit as ever\u2026 and I was relieved to see that much of her recent alleged liquid facelift had gone down. I mean who doesn\u2019t love Suzanne and we all want to believe that at 60 something we can all look that good\u2026 even if we do it naturally.<\/p>\n

Denise Richards was in attendance as well sporting a darker mane. She shunned off questions regarding her ex Charlie Sheen. And Richards has a new book coming out the she swears won\u2019t be a tell-all. Hmmm, then what pray tell will it be I wonder?<\/p>\n

Bobbi Brown was of course backstage as she and her team generally are lending a perfect touch to the faces that would grace the runway for the evening. There were plenty of cat eyes, smokey eyes and ruby red lips to go around. All in all the lineup looked gorgeous with a variety of dresses from Zac Posen (worn by Von Teese) Notte by Marchesa worn by the lanky and tan Guiliana Rancic and Chris Benz worn by Eva Amurri.<\/p>\n
